They'll either trade Salmons or keep him and then buy him out for $1M in the offseason (since only $1M of his salary next season is guaranteed). I suppose they could also use him as a trade chip during the draft or offseason.
All about when his team option deadline is

They need leadership; not sure if they got one in Gay. But they are definitely talented. We'll see if their coach is any good because he has a difficult job getting THOMAS -- McLEMORE -- THORNTON -- GAY -- COUSINS -- WILLIAMS to work without any veteran leadership elsewhere.
I'd rank Kings fans up there with Portland. They're just under the Bulls & Warriors fans territory.

Salmons is going to tear his ACL to fail his physical. GOD DOESNT WANT ME IN TORONTO!

You'd have to structure the deal as two deals - Gay for X and Gray and Acy for Y. Acy is a minimum deal, so he doesn't count as incoming salary, so it is easy to balance from SAC's point of view. That allows the Raptors to absorb 150% of their outgoing. So Gray and Acy make 3.5M, meaning the outgoing salary for the Kings has to be at most 5.5M. Vasquez and Patterson would fit that at 5.3M.
That leaves Gay (17.9M) for Salmons and Hayes (13.3M).

It is $4.583M.
In the new age luxury tax, it could prove valuable.
It is large enough to really help facilitate a trade or it could save a luxury tax team upwards of $10M in taxes or it could get a team under the luxury tax saving them up to $7M in tax and getting them a share of the revenue sharing (which should be significant with BKN and NY payrolls this year).
Another use could be like Portland last year taking on Thomas Robinson while giving up no salary.

By Trade Deadline...we could be very interesting players. Taking on some good contracts, and being able to facilitate trades, hmm.
