That is true. This is a lot of money sitting there and not getting any action. You want to maximize your resources.

Some more and some less. Turkoglu and whatever else is on bench in Orlando is more than the Raptors.

Also, keep in mind the Raps have had freakishly good luck with injuries this year (knock on wood). Right now by far leading the league in minutes lost to injury. Something like 72 minutes and next team is in the 200 range. If DD, Ross, or Salmons gets injured Fields or Novak could see minutes. Same for Hayes if a big gets injured.

Sure it's nice to trade for some assets but these guys could actually help when the inevitable injuries happen too.

So funny that I have been thinking of this for a while now and there is a thread for it anyways...
Novak has lots of value and a reasonable contract for a specialist but I do not see him being moved unless there is a deal that Masai can't pass on. Let's face it this will probably be the last year of the Casey era and Masai probably sees potential in Novak with the right coach so again probably won't get moved. Masai on the other hand will probably not want to have Fields salary on the books. I am not sure where the whole recovery situation is at for nerve damage but if Masai sees that it is not getting better he might try and deal Fields to a team looking to clear cap space for the 2015 offseason.
