He was shooting it with decent confidence last season. Think in the long run you want him taking it so that you keep stressing that it is a shot you want him to have in his arsenal. Otherwise he'll continue to lose confidence in it if you tell him not to.

*I'm not too surprised he's not knocking it down consistently this year. He spent the whole summer working on his body, post play and D. Makes it hard to maintain an effective jumper as well. Hopefully he can focus on it again now that his body is developed and he can just refine his game.

And I think he's only taken a couple this game. I agree with that. You just don't want to weed it out completely. Sometimes confidence is contagious, and if the staff/team keep encouraging him it can help him get it back on track.
