What about Larry Sanders? Yes, he's on a really big contract, but that makes him easier to get. Just think how good our inside defense would be in a year or two - JV at C, and Sanders at PF If Masai could somehow include Fields or Novak in potential trade scenario...

If you want a guy like Sanders I say just spend money on Davis instead.. should be easier to acquire him for example.

Right now, JV needs a strong defensive PF like Amir to cover for him.
If JV becomes a defensive stopper, like he is capable of being, then we need a low post guy at PF like Monroe.
So...what do you guys think of JV?
(I'm going to keep beating this horse until I get a response god dammit)
D might be an issue as well, but they are young....

They are both really 5s. JV might develop into PF, I don't think Monroe has the agility to do. Still it would be an interesting 4-5 tandem & watching it grow.

I just meant that whatever move we make shouldn't be until at least the end of this season, if not in 2015.
Also I think Monroe is 4/5. I can't imagine JV as a 4."Bruno?
Heh, if he is in the D-league still in a few years I will be surprised.
He's terrible."

I believe Ujiri will be a buyer in the deadline, and he'll be looking mainly to add depth to every position, likely the small forward spot (Salmons the only wing, Fields injury, Novak/Daye specialists only) and the centre position (JV, than Hayes - huge drop-off).
Do NOT expect Ujiri to go out looking for all-stars.Twitter: @ReubenJRD • NBA, Raptors writer for Daily Hive Vancouver, Toronto.
