The thing that has impressed me most about Kyle so far has been his approach to the leadership role. He has fully embraced the situation and has responded by making sure other guys (Ibaka being the biggest example of this) get their chance to shine. We needed this from him so badly for this seasons changes to function and he's showing us he's bought in. Last night he even spoke with the coaching staff to offer his observations which I hadn't seen him do before (feel free to correct me on this if it's not the first time).

Everything right now is going well so it's only natural to take the day for granted. However come our first bad streak, the mentioned leadership qualities will really be crucial in reasserting confidence levels in the locker room.

Through six games Lowry is averaging 19.8 points, 3.6 boards, 10.3 assists (leads league) and 1.6 steals on 58/53/83 splits

He's playing like he wants to convince Kawhi to stay. Taking on the leadership role, complimenting Kawhi's inside game with some ridiculous outside shooting, a willing passer.

Also, he is currently number 1 in the NBA with 11.1 assists per game. The gap between him and number 2 James Harden (9.0) is as big as the gap between 2nd and 14th.

He is also number 2 in ORatg, was 5th in win shares BEFORE the win, and is sporting a gaudy 65% TS%.

I love how he has embraced this new team and seamlessly added Kawhi and Danny into the fabric of the offence. His defensive intensity has ratchet up a notch. He is playing like he is confident of a different outcome in the playoffs.

Kyle is always the VORP leader of this team. Though Kawhi’s numbers will supplant that.

Having these two healthy can do some major major hurt against opposing team in the playoffs.
