Hope Kyle gets into the Olympics. The US team has filled 11 of their 12 spots. With Paul, Curry and Mitchell declining that keeps an option open for another guard like Kyle. Hope they extend it or he wants it (he's obviously a free agent so he may not).

An Olympic gold should help him get into the Hall.

Here are the guys that have all committed so far:

    Durant
    Harden
    Bam
    Draymond
    Beal
    Tatum
    Booker
    Lillard
    Holiday
    Middleton
    Love

Kawhi and George said they have interest in playing but haven't officially committed.
Harden was a shell of himself due to injury in this years playoffs … shouldn’t he be resting and rehabbing? And Kawhi… yeah, I’m not seeing that happening.

I agree, it’d be great to see Kyle there and for him to add another gold to his resume… (or silver at least, if Canada puts it all together… shouldn’t be too difficult for us right? 😎💩 )

    • Free agents typically don't play in the Olympics. Kyle seems like the kind of guy who would play anyways but if he was smart he'd skip it and stay healthy for his last contract.

Raptors tend not to start rookies - either off the bench, or seasoning in the G League - so signing Kyle for, say, 2 years may not really change the timeline for the 2021 FRP

Turns out he’s smart. Woj just tweeted he declined

            • This high pick makes it less likely Kyle is back. We most likely end up with a guard and one good enough to need minutes now.

Yeah… the timing of Kyle’s announcement there pretty much couldn’t have been more conspicuous… 😬

                  • Really think he's just going to sign a contract with the Sixers. Good way to finish his career if he doesn't stay here. Also what we could have in return is not worth it.

There's a reason for that. When was the last time the Raptors drafted in the top 4? most of their rookies the last 8 years or so were undrafted or late 1st round picks.

Do you really think they'll send someone like Suggs or Mobley to the G-League?

                      • My guess is that if it’s Suggs he comes off the bench for the first three weeks of the season and then starts. Mobley probably starts immediately. Green may have a tough time with Nurse and could end up being 6th man the entire year.

The Heat can sign Lowry outright into cap space, close to the salary he's looking for. Apparently that was his 1st choice at the trade deadline. I wonder what their off-season plans look like.

Yeah I agree the Heat is another team that he could fit in and contribute right away on a winning team, and they have the money to throw at him. Not many other great free agents they can target this summer...

Maybe, but for the the Sixers to outright sign Kyle to a contract the size that Kyle wants, they'll have to clear cap space. They'll also have to know what they're doing with Simmons, because he's not eager enough to shoot to be shifted to Shooting Guard...

Bottom line is that if Philly really wants Kyle, it's going to be difficult for them to get him without a sign and trade.

                              • Miami will have about 20M if they get rid of VO's cap hold, about 8M more if they get rid of Nun's and Robinson's. I can see Kyle going there if offered multiple years
