So if Lowry walks, how gettable is Kemba Walker?
Kemba would be hard. Eric Bledsoe is a good target depending on the price, especially if PHX drafts one of the PGs at the top of the draft.

    • Would be great if Lowry is intent on leaving to convince him a sign and trade with Charlotte is good for him. I don't think we miss a step with Kemba in place of Lowry.

Loved the idea of Bledsoe, long before we even acquired Lowry. But his knees are a HUGE concern.

          • Lowry and Sixers have mutual interest

            https://www.thescore.com/nba/news/12...utual-interest

Lowry has been interested in playing for his hometown 76ers "for some time," sources told Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and that interest is reportedly mutual. Sources also told Pompey that the Sixers have long planned to offer Lowry a "lucrative" contract this summer.

Adding fuel to the speculatory fire is the fact that Sixers president Bryan Colangelo was the general manager who brought Lowry to Toronto in a trade with the Houston Rockets back in 2012. According to Pompey, the two have remained "good friends" since then.

Toronto can still offer Lowry more years and money than any other team, and president Masai Ujiri said the Raptors will try to retain him. Signing with the 76ers would also appear to run counter to Lowry's insistence that all he's looking for at this point in his career is a ring, as well as a recent report that he may be looking to jump to the Western Conference.

The game begins. Lowry probably does value winning - but he's going to want to cash out on his last contract, so prepare yourself for a bunch of leaked "mutual interest" articles about any number of teams as his agent tries to drum up the market.

              • Anybody remember back at all star when embiid slapped lowrys hand and said "he's playing here next year" while lowry was quickly scuttling away?

If he goes to Philly, safe to say it was planned months ago, maybe more

                • Since this is something about Kyle Lowry, it could probably go in the Everything Kyle Lowry thread.

This hardly comes off as an agent trying to "drum up the market"

                      A) it's his hometown that is the beginning of an uprise and they will become a media darling which allows him to make even more money via endorsements
                      B) BC is the GM who loves accelarated rebuilds
                      C) As KeonClark just mentioned Embiid was stating already that he will be their PG next year, doesn't mean it was anything to it but there is certainly very good reason to believe there would at least be a mutual interest (not forgone conclusion)

                      • Let's see how the lottery works out. If Philly drafts Fultz, Ball, or another PG in top 5 I doubt they throw 125 mill at Lowry.

There's also similar reports they are interested in Jrue Holiday bringing "the process" full circle.

Fultz and Ball could EASILY play SG given their height and length.

Not to mention it's Simmons that will be the primary ballhandler/distributor which will allow Kyle to operate at his best which is off the ball since he is a very good shooter and would also allow him to extend his career by taking majority of his duties off his shoulders.

Who they draft will be meaningless in their decision to sign Lowry or not. The point of having him is to have a strong veteran leader that can start teaching the young guys the right way to play and also for BC to do his usual accelerated rebuild which PHI fans are dying for after all this tanking.

                          • See? If any GM's are as easy as you guys, market successfully drummed up.

Come on guys. There is every chance Lowry ends up in Philly. But the chances are no different today after this report than they were a month ago. We've always known Philly would be at least a consideration, because they are likely to be willing to throw the full max at Lowry with no qualms, where other teams including Toronto might not, which means they'll always be an option no matter how much a player values winning.

There were also plenty of "reports" about DeMar and his hometown Lakers. In the end, he didn't even talk to them.
