Gasol gave it all back on offense, passing up open shots to force his teammates to take incredibly difficult shots late in the clock. He has completely tanked the offense. If Embiid doesn't have a bum knee and diarrhea for the first half of the series, we're out in 5 or 6. JV vs. Gasol is a wash at best, but judging by what's been our most glaring weaknesses in the playoffs: (1) rebounding, (2) inside scoring, (3) bench scoring, it's clear that we would benefit infinitely more from what JV brings than Gasol's passes that lead to bricks and turnovers in the half-court.

Gasol is like our 4th or 5th option on the offensive end. We don't NEED our center to fucking score 20-10. What we needed him to do was space the floor, make good reads on offense and limit Embiid on defense. He did more than that by turning their best player into basically playoff DeRozan.

I DO want a minimum of 10-15 points and more than a few rebounds from my 7 foot Centre, REGARDLESS of whatever else he brings. Marc passing up open 3 pointers is bad enough but he passed up a wide open layup and then compounded that by throwing it completely away as if he was somehow trapped with no one in front of him lol. He did that twice yesterday.

When you don't like to hear the truth, resorting to personal attacks just shows immaturity and desperation. Nobody wants Gasol to be crippling and clogging up the offense with his passive non-shooting and over-passing, but it's just a statement of fact. Everybody wants to see the Gasol we saw last night on offense - no hesitation taking (and making) his open 3's and bullying smaller guys like Ilyasova on the block. It has nothing to do with JV - we all want Gasol to be successful.

But when you toss in the fact that FVV is playing worse than a G-leaguer, then you could see why people are thinking that we would have been better served keeping JV & Wright - heck, even CJ Miles could help our thin bench at this point. It's all water under the bridge now, and just forum filler at this point. Neither JV or Gasol would be the reason we got by Philly. That would have happened, regardless, because...... Kawhi Leonard is a Raptor.
