It's hard to counter such astute analysis.

Scott Brooks is doing a terrible job but the Grizzlies are a tough team. BKN sucks they played like crap for two weeks going into the playoff and like crap through 5 games. Casey is worse than Brooks

Our coach is really bad. Wiz coach took down Chicago in 5.Our coach can't handle a team of DWill, Andersen, Joe Johnson, Telkeloviuch and Blatche.

Wizards have fewer flaws than Miami. Miami is the much better team but they are similar to BKN no rebounding no center.Wizards have 2 SG a 3-D Wing and 2 Bigs. The lack of a bench isn't as problematic in the playoffs. Raptor vs Wiz comes down to coaching and our coach sucks. Miami vs Toronto means exploiting their Weakness.
The wiz coach ain't nothing to write home about either.

    *knocking on wood*

I would fear the Heat as a Raps fan more than any other match-up. Toronto has no defender for LeBron - no Pierce, Artest, George, Igoudala, etc. with enough size and speed to at least make him work. Look at the fits JJ is giving the Raps. Multiply that by 10000 and you have the LeBron James Match-up Nightmare.

A series with the Wiz, considering how they're playing now, would probably be very similar to this Brooklyn series.

Atlanta also has a matchup advantage against Indy. Indy turns teams into midrange shooter which is Atlanta. League cand Korver vs Lance and George will create one open player

While the Wizards being good (especially when healthy) shouldn't be a surprise, they also had the matchup advantage against Chicago (It was the match up that the Wizards wanted).

Chicago's defense didn't let them down during this series...their already poor offense did. They actually could have forced a Game 6 but just couldn't put any of there gimme baskets at the end through the hoop.

As the article says, the same thing happened in 2001 when everything on the horizon looked so glorious.
I'm pretty sure the point that was made in that article was that things didn't necessarily seem that glorious. We didn't even know if the Toronto Raptors would exist 5 years later. This had a hand in pressuring us to sign those overpriced contracts.

I think you missed the point of the article.

All im saying tho is that we aren't quite THERE yet where we can be as confident as the post I responded to. Things could easily go south. I'm not saying I believe they will, but they could.

You make a fair point. It definitely wouldn't be hard to trade away our assets for draft picks and young players, but even Masaii knows that this team is already young, getting fairly experienced, and already has that coveted play-for-each other mentality. There should be no need to bring in more young talent. This team needs established and respected talent, and that is why there is so much talk about bringing in a big name free agent or two over the next couple of off seasons.

Like enlightenment said, if Lowry signs for a decent contract, and if we can get rid of Salmons, Hayes, and one front court player (Ive heard it will be Hansborough), we will retain a solid core of players and will make room for a rookie as well as a few Free Agents in the summer.

Tanking should very well be a thing of the past for this team. I expect Masaii to continue to build up, and not down.
