Here's Klay's take on the Lowry shove... not cool Klay!

Klay Thompson has chimed in on the Mark Stevens shove.

Thompson did not share the same sentiment as others calling for the Warriors’ minority owner to receive a lifetime ban for shoving Kyle Lowry after the Raptors star fell into the stands early in the fourth quarter during Toronto’s 123-109 Game 3 victory Tuesday night.


“It was unfortunate,” Thompson told reporters Thursday afternoon. “It wasn’t very cool. We’ll give him a little benefit of the doubt because I think that was his significant other that got toppled. It wasn’t like he threw a hard punch, just kind of a forceful shove.”



When looking at a replay of the incident, Lowry hardly makes any contact with that significant other.

The NBA announced Stevens’ punishment Thursday afternoon, banning him from attending NBA games and Warriors team activities for one year and fining him $500,000 for “pushing and directing obscene language” toward Lowry.

Thompson hopes Stevens learns his lesson and can move forward.

“He shouldn’t have done it, and I know he knows that,” Thompson said. “I think he’ll make amends and move on. That’s what life’s about.”

Thompson will play in Game 4 after missing Game 3 with a left hamstring injury.
