  • Is it just me? I'm not one to pay too much attention to salary minutiae, but it look like a lot of overpaying is going down. Maybe Masai and Kawhi have a secret agreement to STFU until all the other teams weaken themselves through desperation moves.

Definitely overpaying happening in the Knicks camp.

Overall, I think most of the contracts are ok. Some duds, but no Joakim Noah or Movgov contracts

Status on East teams at this point:

          - Atlanta: pretty quiet last night, stood out more on draft night
          - Boston: losses outweight gains
          - Brooklyn: clearly stronger, but won't really feel it until next year
          - Charlotte: whomp whomp
          - Chicago: under the radar, but stronger
          - Cleveland: *crickets*
          - Detroit: apparently interested in Javal McGee, but no change
          - Indiana: Thad is a loss, but they really strengthened point guard. Stronger
          - Miami: stronger, but need to see full Dallas deal and if they get Beal to see by how much
          - Milwaukee: weaker. R Lopez doesn't replace Brogdon talent/potential
          - New York: *heavy beleaguered sigh*
          - Orlando: no change
          - Philadelphia: big gets and big losses. I remain unconvinced that they've improved
          - Washington: postponing thoughts until seeing if this Beal deal with Miami happens

The east is still ours for the taking
I don't think Miami has much to offer WAS for Beal?

Right now Miami is a bit of a mess, supposedly involved in two three-team deals. One for Jimmy, but the Dallas piece is a bit off the rails (took Goran, than didn't want him). Apparently they're looking at another three team deal to pair Butler with Beal

            • Woof, trade rumours are everywhere:
              - Warriors looking to trade DLo (just didn't want Durant to leave without any return)
              - Chicago looking to trade Dunn
              - Wizards trying to trade for Isaiah Thomas

              • So it looks like the Knicks are setting themselves up to try to lure superstars again in two years. That's the new carrot on the stick I guess for the fans.

It’s pretty sad how consistently incompetent they are, like even the Kings have started to trend upwards

They will go hard at Giannis.

But Masai will break their hearts.

                                I get that for Miami.
but there's no reason for Portland to trade for Whiteside.
They are set at the big with Nurkic.
