The 2nd rounder (32nd pick) actually went to the Pacers as well.. lol
Oh well damn Mars, are we in the Twilightzone? Is this some alternate reality where even the Suns can be more dense than what was thought scientifically possible? What the heck are they doing? Do they have some under the table agreement set for July 1? If so what is this player thinking? lol

Wow, looks like a NBA ready type of body. He is very lucky that he will be playing with guys who are always early in the gym and leaves late.
One thing that really stood out to me in that package is how vertical he stays on his blocks, often with two hands. Like, you know how after every foul at the rim a big commits, they stand up straight and pretend they didn't bring their arms down to like 45 degrees on the actual play? This guy appears like he has a tendency to keep his arms up. That's an NBA skill right away. Interesting add.

I also find it interesting that they are adding two PF/C's right now between their 59 pick and this signing. Hardly proof of anything, but I already thought they were going to look to reduce the cost of their C spot next year, and this doesn't exactly run counter to that.

Yeah, that was a great deal for them - it was hard to tell watching the draft cause the trades were so confusing and the stupid NBA doesn't address them in real time.

Indy really needs shooting/scoring. There was no way they were getting anyone as good otherwise. Indy might be sneaky good again. What's their cap situation like?
If they renounce all their free agents they have room for a max contract, even after taking in Warren. But they do have a bunch of free agents, Young, Bogdanovic, Evans, Collison, Joseph - not sure how many they actually want to renounce. Even if they just want to keep one of Young or Bogdanovic, each has a cap hold of between 13-20M...

I totally agree with your thoughts about the Center position next summer.

          • There was a suggestion from one of the talking heads of ESPN that the NBA should look into switching the timing of the draft and free agency just like the NFL wherein free agency is ahead of the rookie picks.

They looked at the ugliness of these guys last night wearing team hats that most know will no longer be their teams come July 6.

The NBA can also just give them generic NBA caps to avoid confusion for casual fans who dont follow tweets of real time/draft day trades.

Kawhi getting a standing ovation at the blue Jays game tonight. I fucking love this man.
The only thing left for board man is to show up at the St. Lawrence Market on Saturday and have the peameal on a bun...

Great idea. The NFL does most things better than the NBA except for player contracts.

                  • Kawhi and his family visiting Niagra and a Jays game has to be a good sign right? Unless you take the glass half empty take where he's trying to do all his sight seeing now in Toronto before he heads out to LA permanently.

Also the Jays were playing the LA Angels of all teams.. ugh.

He has his exit interview this week.. and might give TO the first opportunity to pitch him. So he could be staying around for that.

Glass half full take though.. yeah He Stay!

He can't stand Canada. Canada is great and all but who wants to live there?

Besides all those players on the eight or so franchises in the top tier pro sports leagues? Or so that's the talking head's theory... About all players in Canada. No hate. They love Canada.

At this point I'm like 80% sure he's staying, 40% sure its max term

Dan—is one’s cap hold ever lower than their previous year’s salary? IE if it was clear their market value was less than their cap hold? So in the case of the Raptors in 2020 if they run it back would Lowry’s cap hold be over $30 mill and Ibaka/Gasol’s over $20 mill?

I think the NBA needs to re-think the entire offseason. From the timing of draft and free agency to the absolutely ludicrous moratorium period on free agent signings. But, yes, this kabuki theatre at the draft is embarrassing for everyone.

                            • NBA loves the timing of free agency it drags headlines out until Mid July, with draft, awards, trades and rumours supplementing from NBA finals onward. NBA has a stranglehold on sports news for as long as possible, until NFL finally takes over in mid summer.
