Lakers would be stupid if they sign another max player. Then they will literally have 5 players under contract and be at the cap limit. How would they even get the other 7 players to make a roster? I feel like this is more of a move to sign 2-3 good role players and fill out the rest with veteran ring chasers.
Well if they could get AL Horford for 25 or so....and give up some term on the contract that should get them in the top 4 in the west next year.Where they will run out of gas is in the playoffs as they are going to have at least 10 guys on the minimum...No depth
I know .. Don't bet against Lebron.. but he will be on his 16th season.... Genetics is a real science... He will be slowing down....First time ever he got hurt last year.... I don't see him avoiding injury as much as he has been able to for the first 15 years..Father time is still undefeated.

For context on what a league minimum gets you..... the same Lakers paid Micheal Beasly 3.5 last year...They can prolly spend around an average of 1M$ per guy ... and remember a stiff like Beasly costs 3 and a half times as much. It won't be pretty...You get what you pay for....

Lets see what Pilenka and Jeannie and Kurt and Linda and Rich and Lebron decide next....

Lakers should sign : Danny Green, Patrick Beverly, Kevon Looney and J.J. Reddick

Lakers will try to sign: Kawhi or Kyrie.

Lakers will sign: JR Smith, KCP, both Morris twins and Carmelo.

Where Lou went wrong was thinking people should play by his rules. To them it doesn't matter what he thinks, its what he says on record that matters to them.

          • Funny thing is lou really wanted to stay in TO. Then masai didnt even give him a call. He should be thankful that year in toronto resurrected his career. Atlanta literally cap dumped him for john salmons and had to attach a young prospect in Bebe to get the deal done.

Yeah, Green and Beverley in particular would be great for them. I think the Lakers are fools if they don't go hard at trying to get the best defensive guards they can find to round out their roster. The state of guard-play in the west this year is insane: Paul/Harden, McCollum/Lillard, Conley/Mitchell, J. Murray/Harris, Westbrook/Roberson, Hield/Fox, DeRozan/D. Murray, plus potentially Curry/Thompson if Thompson is back to full health by next playoffs. Lakers probably need to go through three of those teams to get to the finals.

              • The Lou stuff is just talk, trying to get Kawhi to the Clippers. It doesn't mean anything beyond indicating Lou would love to have Kawhi on his team next year. And that's not really news, is it?

You mean a potential backcourt of Carruso/Mudiay might experience a few siesmic bumps if thats what the Lakers can afford lines up against say a Curry/Thomposn in the first round ?

Honestly what would demar add to a team with kawhi and pascal? At this point you want either of those players handling the ball over demar IMO. the structure of our lineup you want a knock down 3 pt shooter at the 2. Demar does not fit that mold. Why is everyone so nostalgic of a team that couldn't get it done in the big moment? WE ARE THE MOTHER FUCKING CHAMPIONS. No one should be talking about JV or Demar coming back until they are in the twilight of their careers as a bench veteran.

Sure, if he wants to be the sixth man. He doesn't fit as a starter.

                        • DeMar can still get buckets. His passing has really come around as well. Not being the focal point of the offense could help him torch benches and hunt mismatches.

that's a hell of a sell to convince Demar to be 6ix man. He could be elite 6ix man though and would like him back in that role

Lol imagine trying to pitch demar to come off the bench after we shipped him out and won a chip the following year without him. Demar will not play for the raptors unless its 5+ years from now. Let it go

                              • The Lakers can’t even schedule a meeting without it becoming a three ring circus days in advance. Leonard is going to deal with the media there? Good luck with that.
