3 MVP/All-NBA calibre players have now left Westbrook for greener pastures. 2 in their primes. NBA players have the utmost respect for other players ..... especially the elite guys. Of all the negatives, that's the worst indictment of Russ.
To be fair, the Harden thing wasn't on Westbrook, that was on ownership. He definitely owns his fair share of the blame for Durant and George, though.

I mean I don't think it's fair to toss PG in his face. That's on Kawhi. We forget that PG could have chose to go to LA but instead opted to resign with the Thunder to play with Russ. It was Kawhi and the Clippers recruitment which caused the trade demand. Personally if it was me I'd take less assets to trade him anywhere but LA. Teams need to stop giving these players what they demand, it only reinforces it and makes them perceive they have more influence than they deserve.

Aside from the Harden thing which looks to be a command decision.. a financial choice from an upper floor. .I am on board and agree

However... on the other... sorry my friend but a dick is a dick is a dick...
Its Russell....rabbit ears and a thin skin and a temper.... not a good mix.

Caron Butler said during the Raptors vs Pacers Summer league game that he expects the Raptors to struggle making the playoffs.

Nice to see Caron still being an uneducated, uninformed Raptor hater douchebag.

An awesome 2nd half to a season is shaky ground to base a prediction on. Remember when the Heat went 31-17 down the stretch of the 2016-17 season, so people thought they'd be a 50 win team the next year after finishing with 41 wins? They ended up with 44 wins the next season.

Orlando is probably a low-40's win team again, unless they make a significant move. But it's always possible, teams surprise every year.
I disagree a bit, that Miami team was not as good as Orlando. I think its much more likely they sustain a high level of play. They will be a top 5 defensive team and a mediocre offensive team in all likelihood with a lot of potential. I wouldnt bank on potential, but they should be right in that group of teams 3-7; they have a solid case for being good, but some clear question marks.

                Exactly.

Raps were high 50's win team before Kawhi arrived

What about DeRozan they will say?! Well Derozan scoring production is now duplicated by Siakam.

This team is still a 50+ win team the way they are.

Except Kyle Marc and Serge are all older and either regressing or due for regression. Fans always talk about X players all getting better and no one else plateaued or falling .....

I like the thought process and lots of good points above but what you're overlooking is player development. Pascal and OG could both take leaps forward. I mean Siakim is primed to be an all-star now with Kawhi out.
How has Pascal been here three seasons, won MIP and a chip, and you still can't spell his name right?

Many are using DG and JV's absence as a factor towards losing more games, but we also get a full season of Gasol and OG. Barring any major injuries I think we'll come out of the gates with an established core and be in the top 3. If Lowry, Siakam, or Gasol miss a substantial amount of time, I would say 4th or 5th.

But Pascal, OG & Fred are due for higher increase of usage to compensate.

                            Fair comment...

I think we get the same kind of year from Kyle as we saw last year. For sure it won't be better and I think its reasonable to assume he prolly recedes a little. Kyle is pretty driven guy and I think we don't see a year long case of the championship flu. For me = to > from last season.

I fear for Gasol. Marc is this years load management player. His passing and oppty recognition skill will be the same but father time will slow how quickly he can execute. I think the same holds true on his ability to finish in close. He isn't what he once was but he is still pretty damn good. For me another = to < than last year.
                            .
I think we get more from Serge. He will get more minutes as he is 30 and Marc is 35 . or will be 35. Serge is also playing for his last contract. Don't underestimate that. For me Serge > than last year.

From the others in my POV we will get:
                            • More from Pascal .. way more....he is a fantastic talent. This is a 5 year all star with a chance to become something special if that jimmy from 3 falls on a regular basis. .
                            • OG (by default he has to be light years better than last year)
                            • Norm.. who has won a championship and sees just how valued a guy like Danny Green was in that run. Norm has seen the blueprint. I think he makes something of it and we are gonna be happy with him this year.
                            • Freddy... I think we have seen the top of his game in the playoffs. He won't be better but if can consistently provide 3 point shooting and better than average defense he will be better on aggregate than last year.

In the who the eff knows category:
                            • The Nets let RHJ go.. why ? Can he show he can help and contribute and that the Nets were wrong.
                            • Chris Boucher is either going to arrive this year or suffer the same fate as Bruno.
                            • Can Malcom Miller avoid a year w here the equivalent of being hit by space debris derails his season. They like him. They have kept him around for 3 years.Let see what Malcom can do if he gets a break on the injury front.
                            • Is Stanley Johnson a find from the scrap heap or does he belong there ? His third team in 4 years.
                            • Will any of Dewan Hernandez, Segaba Konate ...Lindell Wigginton .. Matt Thompson or Terrance Davis be more than end of bench guys for a year.

The long summer is now here.... Not much to do but guess out loud and wait.

                                My guesses:
RHJ - Situational undersized forward who can't shoot. Really not sure if he get's minutes in the rotation.

Boucher- Hard to see him getting any more than garbage minutes unless his 3 pointer becomes more consistent and he gains an extra 10 to 15 pounds so he won't be pushed around.

Malcolm Miller - He either gives you something or gives you nothing. He might get lost in the shuffle with all those young players wanting minutes.

Stanley Johnson - I think there is a chance we see signs of life from him. His defense is still top notch and I can see the coaching staff finding ways to get him some open looks.

D- Hernandez - G League for at least half a season. Than might get a call up if the Raps trade their veterans.

                                M. Thompson - The most wild card guy out there. Could be a 3 pointer specialist but can he shake off NBA defence to get himself a good shot & score?! Only time will tell (Luka Doncic did not have trouble) Hopefully he will look more like JJ Redick than a fake ass specialist Jason Kapono.

Terrence Davis - This guy looks promising but still a rookie so got to wait a bit to see how he adjust to the NBA game.
