I want to believe that Masai/Africa/out of the US/history with Giannis/Championship city gives us a better than avg chance of landing him. I want to believe he's more of the guy that doesn't follow the herd like we thought Kawhi was.

Masai would forever be a basketball god here and Giannis would be the most popular and marketable player that Canada has ever seen imo. Even bigger than Bargs and Primo .....

    • I have a hard to seeing the Bucks being bad this year though. They pretty much have the same team as last year. Yeah Brogdon is gone, but it's a Bud system with Giannis as the main weapon and a bunch of 3pt specialists. Would be surprised if they don't get close to 60 wins. And when it comes to the playoffs.. the only match up I see where it could go either way is against Philly.. but Philly doesn't have that go to scorer like they did when Butler was there. They have size but so do the Bucks. Brogdon was always a role player. He's not a difference maker like Butler was to Philly.

If the Bucks make it to the finals either this season or next.. that probably means Giannis stays.

I'm rooting for the East even if it means Boston or Philly get passed them. Just to give us a chance at Giannis in 2021.

I feel really gross for just saying it out loud.

Nah, Bucks fans really got on my nerves in the playoffs the last few years and their sense of superiority as a fanbase for a team that hasn't accomplished much since dirt was invented was out of control last season. Even if he doesn't leave I want to see them sweat profusely for two years.

They were the most arrogant and least gracious online fanbase we faced, by far. Philly's was in awe of Kawhi, and golden states was just tired.

I dont recall ever seeing an Orlando fan online.

Why are the Pacers getting so much love? their best player is out indefinitely. And who knows how effective he'd be when he returns.
My god, I'm agreeing with TRex!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm firmly in the 'jury is out on the Pacers' until I see Oladipo back and playing well. Having said that, if he comes back at 100% early, Indiana has a chance to make life very difficult for everyone in the East.

                • Naah indiana is going to be gooood. Brogdon is going to fill into oladipos spot and is my pick as a surprise All-star this year.

Ill demo-Virtual beer bet anyone that Indy finishes higher in the standings then the Nets.

There's going to be a lot of first time all stars in the East this year. Not sure about Brogdon but I expect Siakam, Markkanen and Tatum to make the the all star team this year.

I thought I saw a tweet/picture/something of Embiid showing up in shape.. like really in shape. Maybe it was a mirage.

EDIT - yeah this article here:
                      https://heavy.com/sports/2019/10/six...-conditioning/
Last night on the broadcast the crew did say Joel lost 20 pounds over the summer.
They also said he had gained 5 back.
I think its going be a struggle for him to keep it off as the season grinds on.
You tend not to eat well on the road and the idea of regular workouts during the hectic NBA season is daunting.

Hayward looks like he’s back in form but the Chowders looked to be lacking in size last night. Their offence isn’t all that much and even with Walker it bogged down. They missed a lot of shots Look it’s the first game and things will be choppy for everyone. We get to see Friday night how we stack up with them. Serge might have a field day inside. Brown vs Siakam is going to be worth watching.

With the money, these players/clubs have for what I know he can have a chef following him 24/7 and feeding him with quality food. It's simply being weak against temptations.

I think your right with the personal chef thing..but that’s the summer or offseason.
During the season it’s a blur of packing and unpacking and hotel rooms.
I get teams try to keep the nutrition plans going during the season but Room service is but a call away.

We we shall see how he manages ..

Same here, just saying that I made a rationally irrational decision by picking him when he was the best player available.
