He should start the game, he starts the second half so why not? How would his role change or his usage? He gets the bulk of the minutes anyways. If it ain't broke dont fix it...what you guys watching...its destroyed. Baynes is a net negative and its dragging the starting unit down and putting extra pressure on these guys later in the game. All nonsense...Bouch should start. You guys were being sarcastic right?

Ideally you don't play Baynes at all.. but that can screw you over for future free agents. Got to give the dude some minutes this year even though they may not be warranted. He's a vet and an NBA friendly player (everyone seems to love the dude). Let him get his 5 minutes and hope we over come them. Yesterday he got 11 minutes and had a +/- of 0. So not great, but not terribly bad either

Hopefully as the season goes along, Baynes is fine getting more DNPCD's or we can trade him as an expiring contract. But we can't do that until Feb 5.. and we should try to improve his stock a bit if we can. Riding the pine won't do that at all.

Baynes is slowly playing better. He wasn't good at all to start the season.

He was not horrible yesterday.. but he sucked against Charlotte. In 4 minutes was a -10. Needs way more consistency to be labeled as "better".

Baynes can be a 13-15 PPG player and help neutralize other bigs. Even hit the odd 3.
So he didn't drop off a cliff in one off season and that means Masai/Bobby miscast him for this roster or style of play. Now it's on Nurse to figure out a role for him not bail after 10 games.

Yeah, Baynes needs to keep getting some regular minutes and time to work it out. He's been bad so far but he's not likely that bad permanently, they need a body bigger than Boucher and Baynes is on the roster, got to work with it.

My guess is that if baynes never plays another minute for this team future free agents wont give a crap, and neither would a trade partner looking for an expiring contract. We do not need to showcase him, and nurse doesnt have to do a damn thing to accomadate him. He should come off the bench, amd in limited minutes until he picks up his game. Where you guys come up with this stuff?

I don't see why they wouldn't try Baynes off the bench. They tried the slower Len with the bench a good bit. Baynes could have some success there.

And you always have the option to go back later. Why not try starting Boucher? Frankly it feels inevitable at this point, he clearly should be.

If you start Boucher, he will be matched up against the other team's top center.
We may not see the same effectiveness , but kid has heart he may eventually start.

Boucher is basically Montrezl Harrell with better rim protection and a 3-pt shot.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating:

Offensive rebounds + put-backs are the most overlooked form of ultra high-efficiency offense there is. It's not pretty, but it's damn effective. And it helps you win those games when the pretty boys are bricking everything. Or keeps the offense afloat until they find their rhythm.

That was one of the most infuriating things about Gasol, he stopped being familiar with the rim. I think offensive put-backs are one of the more exciting plays in the game

Dunk put backs, sure, but more often it’s just the simple tip-in, or pumpfake layup.... basically garbage baskets that don’t exactly make the highlight reel. Lol.

Couple great articles re Boucher’s dominance...

the first is particularly satisfying as it’s written by the enemy.
