  • Game #10: Toronto Raptors 88 - Los Angeles Clippers 98

Toronto got it's first signature win on the season on a Sunday night in the staples center. The team went 9 deep and got great effort from a couple of new kids on the block. The bench left the competition respirator style, climb the ladder to success escalator style. Nicks cojones to ride the bench in the 4th quarter should give some much needed rest for Marc, OG and Norm for tonight match up with the other former L.A residing raptor. Many would be happy with just getting 1 of these games in L.A, but as newly formed raptors folklore goes. "F*ck that let's get both".

The clips come into this one well rested. No load will be need to be managed as their last game was Thursday night. This team is lead by former the former king of the north, while also getting contributions from many of the leagues best role players. O.G spent countless hours guarding Kawhi in practice and may be one of the best equipped dudes in the league to guard the FMVP. A strong defensive performance for O.G will help to stymie an L.A contender for the 2nd straight night.

    Starting Lineups

    Toronto

    Clippers

Berta's X Factor- Mobb Deep. What do you get when you put together a former homeless teen from Montreal, A euro league sharpshooter, an undersized big, and a football player from the Mississppi down to the east cost? The new look bench mob! These 4 were unreal, when they got it rolling in the 4th the lakers heartbeat sounded like Sasquatch feet, thundering shaking the concrete. With the loss of 2 big players these guys stepped up and stepped up big! We may not need a complete repeat of that performance but even 75% of what we saw last night would be huge in helping the raps steal another in L.A.

    Game day!

Keeping this one close would be impressive, just like last night. Winning would be glorious, just like last night.

Already splitting the B2B is a great outcome. To paraphrase Kawhi, eff that, let's get both.

Watching a couple of Clips games this season, they usually sit Kawhi the last 7 mins of the 3rd and then they'll play him the entire 4th. He takes all the shots in the 4th for them. I don't have the stats but he prolly leads the NBA in 4th quarter scoring this season.

With PG out, we match up well with this current Clipper team. Obviously Kawhi will be a headache, but my concern will be Lou. Lou gets hot all the time. We need to try to get him out of rhythm early. If Kawhi has to do everything on his own it's going to be a long night for them.

              By a mile.

Kawhi averages 13.5 points per game in the 4th Q, playing about 10 minutes a night in that Q. The next closest scorers are Dame and Harden, both just above 10 PPG in the 4th.

Worth mentioning Kawhi is actually only 10th in MPG in the 4th Q (though three of those players above him are 1 game wonders). Andre Drummond leads the league at just under 11 MPG. Our very own Kyle Lowry sits 5th.

Remember how worried we were that we wouldn't be able to replace Patman?

Sometimes our fan takes are hilarious in hindsight.

The way we'd been starved for a legitimate PF for so long... it's not altogether surprising that people were concerned.

                  Thankfully: Masai.

Kawhi and Lou are the primary scorers, however, the guy that will be tough to contain IMO will be Harrell. He is very active on the offensive boards.Team did a good job last night limiting LAL's O-boards. Can we go 2 - 0 in LA like last year?

Going to miss both LA games but the highlights from that Laker game were fun. Instead, taking in Rockets-Pelicans in NOLA. Never seen Harden live so pumped for that. Saw some of the Rockets at my hotel getting on the bus. Can never get over how big these guys are in real life. Go Raps.
