The women just beat Korea by 20. Day and a half rest then France for 1st in the pool and automatic berth in quarter finals.
The women are tearing it up. Good luck with France. They make it to the quarter finals and they are automatic for the 2020 Olympics, no? Or are they already qualified?

Down big at the half ... I was thinking to myself here we go again ... But the women showed they had another gear and won by 11

      • Looks like she to an upset Canada will face #2 ranked Sapin in the quarter final. Spain will have played an extra game and come off less rest, but tough road to the semis.

The last couple of years the Canadian women have been making a habit of surprising people. I like their chances. Go team.

            • Nice night from Nik Stauskas in Portland to help defeat Lebron in his Lakeshow debut.
24 pts in 27 minutes, on 7/11 from the field, 5/8 from 3.
Dude's bounced around a lot and seemingly, never really found a fit.
Would be nice if he could carve something out for himself in Oregon.

Definitely could carve a career ala CJ Miles and be a 3 pointer specialist.

I don't know what he did this summer ( well I know he didn't play for Canada ) but it's translated well to the preseason and first game of the season ... He keeps getting opportunities ... Let's hope he has found a home . His shot has always been flawless in practice but live game action it always seemed to get lost ...

It seems Canada has all the great ingredients to be successful . PG in Murray and Joseph ... 3 point gunners in Hslep and Nik ... Muscle and toughness in Tristan ... and tones of athletic abilty .

On the subject of Nik ... I just read that Stephen Curry challenged him, via Twitter to a 3 point contest after watching one of his videos .. It was agreed upon and was supposed to be televised on TSN but NCAA squashed it cause it violated NCAA rules .

In the NCAA, everybody gets paid except the workers. And when they do get caught picking up a tiny crumb, they get shot.

                              It's infuriating.

Great move by the NBA letting select players make more money in the G-League. A very important step towards destroying that ridiculous cartel.

Sounds like he's going to have an important role off the bench for Portland. Dame and co. said they're trying to look for him.
