On paper, Canada is the favorite of the group, however Lithuanian (let's go boys) and Australian (4th in Rio Olympics) national teams have much more experience/proven track record of success so... The toughest group in the tournament, it's going to be a massacre.
Australian had a good Olympics 5-0 ( we won't count the loss to U.S ) going into the semi's and lost by 1 to Spain in Bronze medal game ... Lithuanian looking back at last major events hasn't faired was well as they have in the past .

It's due to generational change in the team (happens every 10 years), now when most of the new players are becoming settled and accustomed within the system they should be ready to compete for the medals.

.. Ben Simmons and Anthony Davis are also Rich Paul clients who have also said no .. Lets hope Cory Joseph who is also a client will not say no .

I would like to know what reason they are giving. Thompson did not have a long season, no playoffs and only played 43 games. Is he working on his health for NBA season?

Contract year.... and look who the agent is. This is probably his last chance for a big (or sort of big) payday.

Hard to slag on TT, though. He's answered the call time after time for Canada when a lot of other guys couldn't be bothered. Time for some other guys to pick up the slack.

His big pay days maybe over don't you think ... Although I agree with you cause he has answered the call everytime Canada calls cause he always says yes is why it is still weird ..

                • Ben Simmons is often a douche, but this is the right way to handle national team stuff...

Good management. Compare to Wiggins who has completely managed to alienate himself from the nation he spent his entire childhood life until 18. Not a good look because it's not like they like him in Minnesota much either lol. He's just gonna go down as just another chucker, Corey Magette

                    • It seems a lot of NBA stars are saying no to the Worlds ... Harden , Gordon , and CJ McCollum

Everytime I look on my Instagram it seems another U.S player drops out . Toby Harris next

DeRozan and Lillard are dropping out and so is Kevin Love ... Lowry is still committed ... I like Lowry playing ... I know at his age not a good idea but I think it will mean he will be in top shape entering the season .. Funny how DeRozan says no but Lowry might still go ... You think they would enjoy playing together again

                          • Darn. No Barrett for the World Cup...

apparently he suffered a small calf strain during summer league.

He’s still going to join the national team for training it sounds like...

Let's hope we don't lose anymore top guys.

There was no reason for R.J. to play that final Summer League game. Knicks gonna knicks.
