Jamal Murray is the perfect example of how not every 30 year olds are the same. Primer mentioned how USA have a bunch of 30+ year olds on their team. Well, KD, Curry, Holiday, LJ....those guys are still really good. Murray is only 27 and looks broken down already. How is he going to look like in 4 years?

Brooks and Dort will be in their 30s in 4 years as well. They both play a physical brand of basketball. Can they sustain it? Can they still be effective in 4 years?
Steph is having a pretty awful tournament too, but they have so much talent it doesn't matter. It just stood out for Jamal since other guys were pretty bad like all our bigs, and Brooks was terrible too.

It just happens though. Having bad games shouldn't be an issue if someone out of nowhere has a great game. Like Nembhard did against Spain. Canada needs guys that step up out of nowhere to compensate for the guys that don't have it that day. And nobody did that against France.

I have a feeling Mathurin will be that guy that just kills it for us in 4 years.

And 33, 34, 35 is not old. Not in FIBA.

Saying they have their work cut out for them in 4 years is not "shitting" just like saying RJ is very limited offensively is not "hating" but you be you.

If you don't think France is a future powerhouse then you have no clue what the hell you're talking about. They're going to be the clear cut #2 in 4 years and the gap between them and #3 is going to be massive. I'm not going to explain why. Do your own research. Spain? a team full of washed up players almost beat Canada. They're going to replenish and be alot better in 4 years. Again, not going to explain why. Do your own research. Australia is in that same tier as Canada.
I figured you wouldn't explain because the explanation would be ass.

You apparently know tons about every other team except Canada. We have a million more things to be optimistic aboit than any of those teams.

He didn't look great in the playoffs and he looked awful at the Olympics. Probably most concerning was that he looked slow all over the floor. Denver should be concerned.
Denver went out and signed Westbrook in FA which seemed like a desperate move as well. Not sure what's going on over there.

Agreed this isn't an Olympics thing ..This was a trend the was showing itself in the NBA playoffs .. Think about it .. After the season he
probably wanted to rest the body for a bit and then July hits you have to turn the switch on again .. It was a no win situation for the
guy .. If he didn't play we would have looked at him as a negative and he did play and we look at him as a negative .. He reminds
me of the Cory Joseph who would come to play for Canada and wasn't a peak physical peak and it translated in the game
he gave us when he put the Canada jersey on .

            • just scoreboard watching but i guess france was just playing rope-a-dope in the group stage before they unleashed their secret weapon in the elimination rounds, which was benching gobert

              • So it's going to be France vs USA for the gold medal. This is going to be the rivalry the next 12-15 years.

The key for France the last 2 games was benching Gobert lol. It unlocked everything for them.

I'm not penciling in US yet. Serbia played them even in the jokic minutes during round robin.

If he plays most of the game and US misses some 3s. This could be a game.

Winning the game by double digits?
If LeBron is mad and wants to take over that means more drives and 2 pts. Instead of 3s from Steph Booker and Durant.

Seems like a fine strategy. At this point you prefer old man mid range over losing to 3s
