So the fact Canada hired a new coach that had just won an NBA championship had no effect on us putting together the best team we've ever had?

Nurse publicly stating he was going to have get more involved in recruiting NBA guys to play isn't enough evidence for you?

Believe what you want to believe.
It was Rowan Barrett who changed the policy and enforced a systematic change to the program, with the 3-year committment. You commit and you're in. If not, you have to hope there's a spot and also make the team. That's what forced SGA and other NBA'ers to commit to the summer core... the policy change - not some magical recruiting skills from Nurse.

"Coming out of Victoria last year, we decided to make a systematic change to how we put our teams together and what we're going to do moving forward," Rowan Barrett, GM and executive vice-president of the senior men's program, told a news conference at the Raptors' practice facility.

"We determined we need to have continuity and cohesion within our teams. We have talented teams, we have talented players. But we need them somehow to be together — the left hand needs to know what the right hand's doing."

Nurse.... or Rowan Barrett... or RJ Barrett... or? There's zero evidence that Nurse is some type of master recruiter, or for example, it was the players themselves (like Team USA), who started reaching out to each other. The Canadian talent pool is much larger, for sure, and that has zero to do with Nurse.

    This right here guys.

When you're a teenager and not in the NBA playing for your country is something they will all do.

It's been incredibly frustrating how much more talented our junior teams are than the mens team.

Convincing actual NBA players to play has been something the program has always struggled with.

Nurse gets hired and gets our best NBA players to commit for 3 years.

    But sure he did nothing.
