  • Raptors 2019-2020 lineups & rotations

We used to have threads on this topic in the past with: lineup suggestions, starter & bench combos, match-ups, minutes, etc.... All of the new bench players we have this year has got me excited and intrigued by the potential combinations and versatility.

I'll kick off this thread by drawing some attention to the RHJ + Davis + Boucher lineup combination. Nurse gave them extended run as a unit the last few games and they may have found some chemistry there. It's an interesting, change-of-pace, scrappy defensive unit that can deflate the opposing team by getting extra possessions and score in ways that are very different from the starting lineup. Obviously a microscopic sample size, but the early advanced stats are looking really good for those 3 guys.

How about a Serge, Pascal, OG, RHJ, FVV all defense lineup. Would anyone even be able to score on those 5 guys?

That three man lineup of RHJ, Boucher and Davis has played 65 minutes to a +21 net rating. Sounds like a keeper. Will be interesting to see if they can manage it when Serge gets back.

If you are looking for all defence, you are better off with Marc out there than Serge. And if you want to go switchy small, you slide Pascal to the 5, run Lowry-FVV-OG-RHJ-Pascal. Good luck scoring on those guys. Or use that lineup to spell Lowry with Davis in his place when opposing benches aren't huge.

How about the All 3-pt shooting lineup: Lowry, Thomas, TD, OG & Gasol

          Lowest guy shoots 42% (Gasol).

Looking forward to seeing Lowry with that trio.

              The all length line up:

              Serge, Boucher, Pascal, OG, TD

Or just let Pascal play PG and put RHJ in TD's place. Personally not a fan but might as well take the idea to its extreme!

                  All undrafted lineup.
FVV,Thomas,TD, Miller, Boucher. These guy could unironically beat the warriors, knicks, cavs and pistons.

There is almost no lineup combinations that dont make sense, at least on paper. The capability of bouchet, davis and rhj give us a solid 10 deep rotation, and a sprinkle of thomas gives us 11. Even a lineup of pascal, og, boucher, ibaka and gasol could probably do some damage.

The all non-American born lineup. lol. Was that intentional?

                        The all ornery lineups:

                        Kyle, TDII, Pascal, RHJ, Bouch

(FVV could sub in for either guard position. And/or Serge could be in for Bouch.)

                        Kyle, FVV, TDII, RHJ, Ibaka
                        Kyle, FVV, Pascal, RHJ, Ibaka

There's no shortage of pleasure to be had with this exercise.

                        Loving me these 2019/2020 Raptors.

All i know is that boucher, davis and rhj have all earned a spot in the rotation and should still get to see minutes when lowry and serge return. Its the regular season and really no reason for anyone to be averaging 34-35 + mpg with this new found depth .

Put your hand up if you thought we'd be talking about: "How do we free up minutes for Boucher, Davis & RHJ" 2 weeks ago? lol.
