Good thing about this trade is that we replace a good locker room guy for another good locker room guy. Salmons was a big part of that locker room.

Really good trade for the Raps if this goes through.

#22 in this draft could be the equivalent of a late lottery slot last year, and Prince's contract doesn't affect the team's long term cap situation whatsoever. Hell, I'm even optimistic that he can step in and provide a lot of what they're looking for from that third wing (Salmons role last year), but that could really just be the Masai kool-aid talking.

Only way that happens is if he played injured last year..... and not just old.

Look at his year.... it was dreadful/awful/brutal.

I actually wish it was for the 59th pick, because this trade is essentially us buying the #22 pick for $6M. You'd think that'd be enough and wouldn't require the #37

How many rosters spots do we have open? Could we be packaging the 20 and 22 to move up into the mid teens?

Well I'm not banking on it, hence me framing it as being a little optimistic/delusional that he's able to produce for us at a high level on the court. You can't argue that he's on the decline.

But you never know what will happen with a change of scenery. And 34 isn't that ancient. And I also believe that his 3P% will rise up from 29% next season as well - he was over 40% the previous season before after all, which was actually a better number than what he was shooting in his prime.

At the very least he's a good locker room guy and an intelligent schematic defender. I'm not expecting him to start for us by any means but I think he'll be better than what Salmons gave us last season.

Wonder if 20 and 22 can nab a top 7 spot?

                    edit: errrrr top 10?

                      Not without incriminating evidence.

It's not official, nor is it what theScore reported.

Ryan Wolstat, in his chat, thinks the absolute highest we could move up with #20/22 is Denver's 11th.

                            s/t lowry for nash + 7

                            pick at 7, 20, 22

would have a good, young core plus a TON of cap space for when it matters

                              Very important to remember.

                              Prince is done.

I'm not confident he is an upgrade to Salmons - scary thought.

But he is experienced and he does have a ring.

Interesting the type of team Toronto is likely to build if Lowry resigns is very similar to the Pistons team he won championship with.
Yeah Lowry and derozan are very similar to billups and rip. If Jonas becomes an elite anchor it's similar kinda
