Donovan Mitchell took most of the point guard duties while he is out and Utah is thriving. However, the 22 games with Conley is a small sample size for them to give up on someone that they think can take them to another level that both Rubio and Exum’s playoff inexperience was not able to do. So his value from Utah’s perspective could be more than you think.

In general, teams do not need to waive 2-way players to make room for a trade, unless they are trading for another two-way player, which is not likely a trade to get excited about.
