Ya big win. People thought they would never be able to get off that contract. And not only that they got KATs his best friend. They needed to do something to make him happy asap or he was gonna be A.D 2.0

Wiggins on a Max tho.. Id rather just lose KD for nothing then have wiggins on a max. With Klay, steph, Draymond and wiggins how are they going to put anyone around these guys? Think you could have got more for russell this off season.
Hell it probably would have been better to get RoCo for Russell
They are over the tax with or without wiggins I think. Maybe wiggins being the 4th or 5th options would be good for him you never now....

Not to mention being surrounded by All-NBA pro's couldn't hurt.

          • Wiggins is making a $30M max, not a $40M max.. he got a rookie max like Siakam just did.

He will have 3 years on his deal after this one. If it doesn't work out in 2021, he'll have 2 years left. Can swing him to another team looking for a scorer. He's not injury prone, and will be 28 when he's a free agent again.

It's a bad contract for teams looking for cap space in 2021. GSW is not in that camp. It's not a bad trade, especially since they just scored a top pick in a loaded draft. Minny making the playoffs is laughable. Even with DLo.. he's not a game changer.

I like it for GS. His potential fit is much better than D'Lo. Wiggins has the ability to fill the Iggy/Barnes role between Curry/Klay/Draymond. Maybe being off ball and focusing on defense will be good for Wiggins - I think it will. GS also has the pros/capacity/culture to bring out the best in Wiggins. Don't discount the fact that he was just in one of the league's worst run franchises.

Miami is shuffling things around but I'm not sure they're much better. Older and with more name recognition, sure. But they had great team synergy with their pieces before, we'll see how it works out.

Lakers do not have the pieces to trade for players, Clippers do have the pieces

                        • Feels like a trade where nobody got better.

I'm happy for Wiggins though. He gets out of Minny and into a situation where the burden of being one of the primary scorers is lifted off his shoulders. Seems like an odd fit in GS though. That ownership group over there seems way too ambitious to settle for Wiggins.

Maybe Portland is setting something up for a bigger trade

Kuz and Danny green are pretty good pieces. Ones good for a rebuilding team the other can be useful to a playoff team.
