Our defense has been the primary issue giving up an average of 30 points a quarter the past 2 games. We've sllowed far too many open uncontested 3's, and offensive rebounds leading to second chance points against good teams. Time to play Raptor D.

Correction: Not 30 points per quarter (ppq) as the Miami game had an OT period. Actually 28.4 ppq.

Have a couple of days to look at film, make adjustments etc. Philly plays big (literally and figuratively) at home like we used to eh - lol. They like to crash the offensive boards and after our last game with them, I'm confident Embiid will want to make a statement. Does OG play Simmons? Richardson, their other guard, is a nice player. Who does Lowry/FVV match-up with?

Well, Philly's backcourt is 6'5" and 6'10" (Richardson and Simmons). If there's ever a time to put Norm back on the starting line-up this is it. We'll see how fiercely committed Nurse is to playing Lowry and Fred together on this one.

Is this even a question? Ride or Die. But Lowry's gonna play well in front of his mom and homies - at least on offense. Extra motivation would be that he doesn't want to be answering questions in Philly post-game about why we're 0-3 since he returned to the lineup.

With Kyle back, Nick was uncharacteristically explicit that Norm is a bench player and to accept it. I think Fred and Kyle will remain the starters barring any injury. We are going to have to watch the inevitable mismatches on D.

It seems like we've got some duplication of similar skill sets happening now:

                      Kyle/FVV in the starting lineup
                      Norm/TD coming off the bench
                      Serge/RHJ in the dunker's spot

The obvious & logical move would be to split up Lowry & FVV, but Nurse looks like he's painted himself into a corner on that one.

Yeah feels like a political thing now. Fred earned starter status in Lowry's absence, Nurse won't take Lowry's away either, so he's now in a corner to start both. If they start together, our only hope is that the minutes follwing are staggered in a way where they're on the floor for the least amount of time possible.

Player profiles/skills are interfering with each other rather then complementing/adding to the whole.

It won't happen, but what we need is the unit of Davis/RHJ/Boucher back together, which collectively brings shooting, rebounding, length, and energetic defence. Add Fred to them for ballhandling and you have a winning bench unit every night. Then move Ibaka for a bad salary plus a prospect or pick (e.g Dieng + Culver from Minny?). No log jam, everyone pumping and settled in their complementary roles should be the goal.

I'd like to see a quick Hook after 4 mins for FVV bringing in Norm. Extended OG opening quarter minutes as hes the first sub usually.
Then your first bench unit it Lowry, Norm, OG,Pascal, Ibaka.
Then your next bench unit is FVV, TD, Norm, RHJ, Gasol .
Need to limit RHJ and Ibakas time together as they play same role, but dont want to see RHJ lose his time as he can show how valuable he can be

Yep. The only solution is the move one of the FVV/Lowry to the bench. I prefer Lowry but that's not gonna happen.

                            Starting 5 should be:

                            Gasol
                            Siakam
                            OG
                            Powell
                            FVV
                            Mamba Mentality

I guess there will be rumours going around now that the Knicks are after Masai to replace Fizdale?
