The daily headlines are constant and VERY consistent:

    Last night,
Kawhi and PG combine for 88 in W over the Timberwolves
Harden 54 in W over the Magic
Davis scores 33 and lebron 28 in W over the Heat
Giannis 33 in W over the Grizz and run their winning streak to 17

Who is the Raptor that consistently is in the headlines as the reason they won??? There isn't anybody....
Pascal is an amazing up and coming player nut he's simply not in the elite stratosphere, nor should he be anywhere expected to be yet.

The Raps aren't top 6 and a second round exit is looming as the team is currently constructed.

The dream of bringing Giannis here presupposes that we're reasonably competitive then....with replacements for Kyle, Gasol and Serge also needed by 2021

Masai gonna have to be both a genius and miracle worker.

That's why Masai running the Knicks makes so much sense. Just get them to the playoffs and he's already in the conversation for a statue. Much harder to go from 40-50 win team to legit contender. Even harder to go from legit contender to winning it all.

I know it's all in the news now and much of it is Knicks (or maybe even Masai ) driven but I really don't think Masai is going anywhere if he continues to be given all the finanacial resources necessary to build another winner. Only after Giannis comes here or doesn't do I think his mindset even has a chance to be changed.

If the Bucks get to the Finals (extremely high probability), then Giannis is staying in Milwaukee. Looks like a long shot now.

My fear is were not going to be anywhere near good enough to attract him by 2021. Kyle Serge and Marc will all have to be replaced by then and Pascal and FVV +? will have to be progresses measurably

Kyle and Serge still have to prove that they actually make this group better, surprisingly. Sometimes it’s more about fit, e.g., Kyrie.

Early on Giannis looked like a nice kid, but he's ruthless.

Giannis and Kawhi have that thing they called Mamba Mentality. Straight up killers, both of them.

Have to add 20 year old phenom Luka Doncic to that list...Watching Leonard score 31 in the first half using an array pull-up 3's, mid-range jumpers, net-drives and free throws while hardly breaking a sweat highlights just how much emerging stars like Pascal have yet to develop. The NBA's superstars can and on most nights deliver when needed. Pascal is still learning what it takes to be a teams primary offensive player. At 25, he still has time to further develop his shooting and play making abilities to a level where he can deliver consistent performances and be recognized as a 'superstar'.

Yep. But when Pascal pulls up for 3, everybody around here goes "OMG, he's settling and being so passive". The easy pull-up 3 is a weapon that every true superstar must have in his arsenal these days. Pascal saw Kawhi do it last year, and he needs to get his reps. These are growing pains.

Good ball movement leads to open shots.
