When it rains it pours, but the true measure of a team is how it handles adversity.
I feel pretty good about how Nurse has drilled the system into each guy, so while the Pacers/Celtics/Celtics will suck, hopefully Pascal is back shortly and we can get on a roll.
The only thing that really concerns me is a snowball effect of injuries from overuse. Kyle, Fred, and Pascal are 2/5/6 in the entire NBA in minutes per game. Kyle is almost 34. If we run him into the ground it could have serious consequences. Not to mention that we should hope to have everyone healthy by Feb 6 (trade deadline) if we want to keep our options open, buying or selling.

~~~It has been foretold: all things hustle, rebounding, grit, steals and relentless defensive stamina will encounter its counterpart in all things shooting, off-ball movement, purest form of 3's, deadly quick releases and impossible end-of-clock buckets off pin-downs ~~~ the hot wind from the hills will meet the cool breeze from the mountain, the ying and the yang will find its time together on the hardwood. and the universe will have its balance restored once more ~~~ next men up, it was foretold ~~~
I saw a ESPN headline popup on my phone last night, and it showed Siakam and Norm being out indefinitely. Thinking it was ESPN being a buch or moron's I just assumed it was a mistake and they typed Siakam instead of Gasol. Whoops.
Man what a disaster. 7 of our top 7 guys have all been hurt now, and it's not even Christmas yet. OG gets poked in the eye. Kyle breaks his thumb. Serge with a tough ankle sprain. Fred with a leg contusion (whatever the hell that is). Now these three.
Nurse can't catch a break. There is always someone out of his line up.
The system is bigger than one guy. But it's going to be tough. Kyle has to really bring his A game if we want to beat Boston or Indiana.
But ultimately we are probably doomed to get that 5th or 6th seed in the East this year. I wouldn't want to be the team with home court facing a talented Raptor squad who's been there and done that.
this year was never really about competing in playoffs.
If we don't show we can still compete this year and next, no elite free agent is considering us as a destination and there no ECF or finals in the near future. Toronto goes back to backwater NBA destination.....
