  • And yes, if you buy out a player, you lose all rights to them. Also, another team with cap space would almost certainly grab DeRozan's 10M off the waiver wire.

We won't hear back from him. He dissapears into thin air and reappears when you least expect it. Ten is an enigma. Ten is a legend. Ten for the motherfucking win.

Until then, opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they most often stink

DD has a cap hold of $15.5M. So that's basically his salary until everyone else gets signed. We have a little more than $5M in cap space left.

Yeah. DD is not signed until after the moratorium, and they'll have guys sign contracts in an order that makes sense. DD, last, basically, if they plan to use cap room. So at this point, nothing has changed at all with regard to how much cap space we have.

            • Spencer Hawes is approx. 5.725m. can we absorb his contract?

              • Sorry 5.782. we have 5.5 available?

                • We have 5.315m sooo no?

                  • We have either 5.45 or 5.75M in cap room (depending on some confusion over DD's incentives). I lean to 5.45M, but even 5.75M is not enough for Hawes' 6.35M cap hit. Where are you getting your Hawes salary?

                    • Dan, how many years can a deal be if we use the MLE?

Same length as using cap space?
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

4 years each. Early Bird re-signings (like JJ) can also be 4 years (must be at least 2 years).

Room MLE and BAE are shorter (2 years each). If ever they get into the tax, the tax version of the MLE is 3 years.

They are kind of useless for salary info. Use basketball-insiders if you need accurate numbers.

You clearly are not intimately familiar with the NHL or MLB CBA's. NBA is complex but reasonable.
