  • Game #57: Indiana Pacers 81 - Toronto Raptors 127

    INDIANA PACERS (33W - 23L) vs TORONTO RAPTORS (41W - 15L)

    SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd 2020
    6:00pm SOTIABANK PLACE

A win, is a win, is a win

Last night's 118 - 101 win over "the going no where" Phoenix Suns was both
entertaining and agonizing. The 2Q was typical ENTERTAINING Raptors ball,
defense leading to offense leading to buckets.

The 3Q was AGONIZING as turnovers and mental errors resulted in a faux-NBA
comeback. According to Coach Nurse "The game lost its rhythm, and
every ounce of enjoyability, there in the third".

Yes AGONIZING were the season high 25

Fortunately for us, Booker was not much of a factor. He missed a 3 that
would have brought the Suns to within 4 points with 4:45 to go.
After an OG dunk and another Suns missed 3, a Serge "called it" banked
3-ball pretty much sealed the deal.

Siakam had a great night scoring 25 points in the first half and unlike a number
of games this year, Pascal had a respectable 2H scoring 12 more points. Overall he
was 12 - 19 for a total of 37 points. He also grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.

Raptors also had a season high 13 blocked shots led by OG and CB with 4 each

Next up, the INDIANA PACERS (33W - 23L). The Pacers are in 6th place,
6 1/2 games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference.

The Pacers are coming off a 106 - 98 win over the NYK.
T.J. Warren led the team with 27 points, Domantas Sabonis added 24 points
and 13 rebounds. The Pacers won their second straight after a six-game
losing streak (incl. 2 Raptor Wins).

Victor Oladipo, did not play in the 4Q due to back spasms. He finished with
eight points in his eighth game after returning last month following a year absence
with a ruptured quad tendon in his right knee.

Now for TORONTO RAPTORS (41W - 15L), 2nd place in the
Eastern Conference and 3rd overall in the NBA.

The Raptors have won 8 straight at home. They have 3 more home games
followed by a 5 game road trip.

This is their final game against the Pacers and for the season are 2W - 1L.
Next game is Tuesday Feb. 26th against the NBA leading Milwaukee Bucks.

Bucks leading the 76ers early tonight - Simmons with back issues - he's going to the locker room every time he subs out

Without Simmons Sixers have no chance vs Bucks...

He started the game - just needs attention in the locker room when he's normally subbed out

Odd offensive sets for the 76ers - they've been moving the ball around outside, but they're not a three point shooting team, so it hasn't been really effective - haven't really been looking to feed inside at all

Embid actually playing like a big man right now vs trying to be Steph Curry

Embiid looks more aggressive in working the low post.

Robin Lopez even shooting 3's now. Learning from his bro. They have a bunch of big bodies...CB having nightmares.
