I didn't read the article, because not to sound rude, I couldn't give a fuck what the average person thinks. I've lost all faith in the average person. Most of them would gladly trade their rights if somebody told them boogeyman was outside, and they call the police on their neighbors. The average person can fuck right off.

I had a bad sleep, and got indoctrinated again with the NFL draft telling us we're all in this together from various yachts and mansions pissed me off. My wife is a nurse (yay!), and she told me last night they're actually moving sick people out of her unit to make way for the Covid POSSIBILITY THAT CLEARLY ISN'T HAPPENING! People that were sick before this are not getting proper care because they don't have the trending disease? Alberta has got like 60 some odd covid people in ICU in a province nearing 5 million. Not only do we have enough beds, we have more hospitals than we do hospitalized patients.
It's impacting different people differently for sure.

I know someone with depression / mental illness.. and life is not good for them at all right now. Doing whatever we can to help them through it, but it's tough.

The idea of going through a depression doesn't sit well with me and my wife. We have some savings and have good jobs where we might be safe (although who knows). No mortgage or debt right now. But it's tough to be comfortable knowing that what seems to be the majority don't seem too worried about the downfall of all this. I wish I was a bit more ignorant. Ignorance is bliss as they say...

new york antibody tests in. looks like death rate is really low. potentially 2.7 million new yorkers have had the bug, and are recovering. probably going to need more socialism though, since freedom is a conspiracy, and the honest communists, and socialists enacting their programs while telling everyone to get used to it, because this is normal now(not that gross trump who wants the old normal to be normal, but the new normal with socialism for all)

don't worry though, the next kavanuagh, piss bed, russia collusion, muellermas, boat won't be there, antifa is defending you will be real. what are you alex jones.
Yes, I'm sure that America is enjoying their quality of life right now provided by their capitalist healthcare system. Meanwhile Trump is cutting off his medical experts during news conferences to muse ideas such as injecting disinfectants into the bloodstream or blasting the body from the inside and out with high levels of UV rays. But hey, don't worry, because like his press secretary said today: the President has emphasized that all these desperate Americans without health insurance, or quality coverage or who can't afford it, should always seek medical advice from a doctor before doing anything to fight COVID19. After all the President isn't a medical expert, he just poses incredibly poorly as one on TV.

What's happening isn't about bringing in tyranny, its about protecting the human race from a new, dangerous virus we're still learning about.

      • There's a conspiracy for everything from a different point of view. Choose one. China made it in a lab. Bill Gates made it to sell vaccines. Nobody made it but we will use this to control everybody through lockdown. Sweden is excited they can cut down on people who need pension. Governors are hiding ICU beds to bring Trump down. China is hiding their number of dead. Italy is inflating their number of dead.

No, anyone in the highest position of authority in the world who plants dangerous, self harming ideas into his people's heads during an emergency situation and then cops out by sending out one of his propaganda mouth pieces to absolve responsibility in a way that doesn't even make sense is stupid.

The point of my post is that people are dying because of a lack of socialism in the states. Everything need not be controlled by government but giving people access to health care, K12 education, security and emergency services should all mandatory staples in a healthy, wealthy, advanced society. Socialism isn't the devil, people are the devil.

Not disagreeing but 18 days ago they were saying this "Based on current data, it seems as though SARS-CoV-2 mutates much more slowly than the seasonal flu. Specifically, SARS-CoV-2 seems to have a mutation rate of less than 25 mutations per year, whereas the seasonal flu has a mutation rate of almost 50 mutations per year." I remember reading similar information a couple of weeks ago, that's why your comment sparked my search.
Its a developing situations. They're partially guessing based on what they know today. What's said today may be obsolete tomorrow. When they said it was slow mutating they had only identified two strains. Now they've identified 30. This is a new frontier.

The hard part is knowing which side of there average you are on. Some folks here might not be on the side they think they are.

Alberta banning all gatherings of 15 or more people through August. Stampede and all summer festivals cancelled. Presumably, few restaurants or bars will be able to open under these conditions either. Most retail deemed non-essential likely can't comply either.

I am no expert but I do know that we are running the costliest experiment in human history and it is being conducted by the same people who were completely unprepared for the first order effects of the pandemic, don't seem to understand the second and third order effects very well, have no plan whatsoever, and can't tell us what victory looks like. I am not confident.

Hinshaw said there are still activities Albertans can enjoy safely outside, including walks and gardening.
Isn't that kind of them? They're allowing us to walk, or roll around in the dirt on our own private property. Now, if I was a dog, I'd be fucking thrilled by this news and freedom I've been given. But as a human, the novelty of walking down my residential block and back dissipated a few weeks ago.

Well it didn't work like that. America didn't vote against Bernie, those in the democratic party voted against Bernie. I don't think he's the answer anyway, and I've come to the conclusion that he would likely ruin the country financially with his policies.

So instead, they elected a guy a creepy 78 year old with clear dementia. 350 million citizens, some brilliant, and that's who they want to try and be the president. Donald Trump vs Dementia Joe. You can't make this stuff up.

For example, some here try throwing shade about smarts while not being the best spellers. It's ok though, everyone gets a spell prize in "we are smart and tolerant" land.

Having different beliefs or opinions is not the dividing line of intelligence, hate to break it to ya. "There's fine people on both sides" is a quote I'm sure you know and love.

Full disagree on socialism not being the devil. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

It's like the second law of thermal dynamics says "everything can be controlled through force forever".
