Legit question as I don't know the NBA protocol on this: If a player tested positive now (like Dinwiddie and Jordan), can't they just isolate for 14 days, retest, and then join the team? First game is still over a month away. Outside of being hospitalized and bed-ridden for weeks (which is unheard of on these 20-30 something guys in the NBA), does it have to be a season-ending thing?
he decided not to. So doesn't matter what NBA says.
Spencer said he'll try after 14 days but he's unsure because he has symptoms
“Over the past few months, I have been diligent about protecting myself and others from COVID-19 by following all designated protocol and quarantining. I was ready and prepared to rejoin my teammates as we were to be an early entry team in the resumed season. I flew private to return to New York, passed multiple COVID-19 tests over my first several days in New York and was able to participate in a couple practices within the first week.
“Originally, we were supposed to be one of the teams to enter into the Orlando bubble early, but training camp got switched back to New York and unfortunately I am now positive. Given that I have experienced symptoms, including fever and chest tightness, it is unclear on whether or not I’ll be able to participate in Orlando.

Gobert told L’Equipe, a French newspaper, that his sense of smell still isn’t back to 100%.
“The taste has returned, but the smell is still not 100%,†Gobert said. “I can smell smells, but not from afar. I spoke to specialists, who told me that it could take up to a year (to return to normal).â€Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

I’m not saying I’m just saying.
Even if they want to tank.. it's probably not going to happen.

They are 6 games up on Washington. They don't own the tie breaker, but that's a big hill for Washington to climb. The Nets also play teams like Orlando (twice), Sacramento and Portland, as well as Washington again. LeVert is good enough to win a game or two on his own.

The Denver Nuggets are reportedly closing their training facility for several days after some members of the club’s travelling party to Orlando tested positive for COVID-19.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the facility has been closed since Saturday. Testing of players and staff over the next few days will determine when it is safe to re-open.

Maybe going to florida early was the best thing for the raps?
Also i wouldn't doubt that the defending champs are taking it really seriously as they see them selves with a shot and know not isolating could fuck things up for the whole team.
Lakers, Clips, Bucks, Raps and to some extent rockets celtics probably are going to take this the most seriouslyTo be the champs you got to beat the champs

We have to assume the bubble will provide little to no Covid cases. But even a few could have a large say in the eventual winner.
What if lebron or Kawhi mysteriously comes down with a positive test on the eve of the finals.....or the night before game 7. I'd bet it goes unreported

I really believe they either won't finish the playoffs or it will be severely tainted with some teams short multiple players every night. But they have a month to get everyone bubble-isolated and cut down on the case load. The interesting thing will be if a superstar gets a positive test <2 weeks til tipoff .... what if a team hides a positive result? The name's Bond, James Bond.
