Ruined their roster with trades and FA signings. Somebody had a tweet about what their roster would look like if they just kept the guys they had before the Harris/Horford deals, including their own picks. They would have had a much better and more cohesive roster at this point - and $16m in cap space. Crazy. Really shot themselves in the foot over the last couple seasons.

Also not complaining at all, let 'em suck.
Butler and Redick walking followed by handing out max contracts to Harris and Horford was an absolute disaster that I don’t think they can recover from (in terms of turning into a true contender)

Crazy how “The Process” was slow-building for so long, then as soon as Hinkie was pushed out the new front office(s) pissed it all away and now they’re almost right back to where they started

    • Rockets have shot thirty 3's with 4 minutes left in the half against OKC and trail by 3 50-47.

I don't think I would want either of Simmons or Embiid. Embiid is soft, and doesn't have the drive or fire you need to win, plus sending a bunch of money on a 5 in today's league is a poor move.

Simmons is a great defender, passer and can get to the rim at will, but no outside shot. We had DeMar and Bargs, two players that had flaws that you have to try to make up for. Bargs couldn't defend, rebound, and basically couldn't play the 4 or 5, but also couldn't play any other position. DeMar wasn't a three point threat and couldn't defend.

So Simmons can defend, but can't spread the floor. So then you basically need a five that can spread the floor. Or you move Simmons into more of passing 5 like Gasol. But Gasol can be a threat from outside as well.

The 76ers have flawed stars and that's why that team isn't going to work. Reddick and Butler made them what they were last year.
We’ve got about 50M locked up at the 5, last year and this one. We seem to be doing alright.

I really do think the problem with Philly is much more about the rest of the roster than their two stars.

        • What a shame to think that if it wasn’t for that pesky “shot” last year, Philly could’ve perhaps gone on to win it all.

          Trust the process?
          maybe...
But careful not to miss yer window.
          Don’t worry Sixers fans.

          • What is it about the playoffs and Harden? 10 points on 2-12 shooting (1-9 from 3). After 3 quarters.

Maybe he needs Westbrook? He does have 8 assists....and they're up by 14
7 Rockets in double figures (how Raptoresque) and he's end up with a double double and a W

His worst games are pretty good.....

Just turned it on as it was going into the 4th. The Rockets made a huge 13-0 run or something in the beginning of the 4th while Harden was on the bench. Mainly because the Thunder don't know how to run an offense.

But Harden needs a breakout playoff performance one of these days. A 50 point game with like 10+ 3's or something. Dame and Luka are showing him up big time. And neither of those guys has a Westbrook to help them out.

                      Westbrook's not playing

NBA playoff record 55 3's taken (out of 88 shots so far)

                      • Lmao it’s the 2nd quarter and the Magic are shooting under 20% from the field

                        • Reeeeeally interested in the Blazers-Lakers game later tonight, and not just because the first game was really entertaining. I'd confidently asserted earlier that the Blazer wouldn't be swept because they'd hit 130 in at least one game before the series was over; I very much did not expect that 100 points would be enough for them to take a game. Holding the Lakers to under 100 points is a very good way for the Blazers to win games against them, as it's not at all easy to hold the Blazers under 100; if the Blazers can continue to defend the offensively challenged Lakers close to as well as they did in game, they're going to be a really tough out for the Lakers or even an upset candidate. (It's worth noting that when the chips were down in game 1, they strung together an impressive series of stops to pull away, so it might be sustainable.)

The REAL problem in Philly is Elton Brand but Brett Brown is the one that is going to get all the blame after this season. They're going to fire him for sure after this season.

Look at the Sixers roster. Look at Embiid's supporting cast: Horford, Korkmaz, Harris, Richardson, Burks, Shake Milton. Come on lol. Horford is a good player but he's a center. He said he's never played PF before. Why did they think it's a good idea to sign a guy who plays the same position as their best player? and then they have guys like Harris who really is Rudy Gay 2.0. Korkmaz, Milton, Burks...who the fuck are these guys?

Look at the players that they let go: Butler, Redick, Shamet, Cabarrot, Covington. Last year they drafted Mikal Bridges then they flipped him to Phoenix for Zhaire Smith. Mikal Bridges has turned into a hell of a player for Phoenix.

Elton Brand is burning that team to the ground. I'm not complaining though.

Here's another good one: Sixers had the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 draft. Got greedy, traded up to No 1 to draft Markelle Fultz, who turned out to be a bust. The player that got picked 3rd (the very pick they had): Tatum, who's now the very player killing them in the playoffs.

That's the basketball gods punishment right there for tanking and losing on purpose for so long, rather than trying to win and develop your young players. Still a few more games to go but "the process" looks to be falling apart at the moment.
