I feel we almost forget about Matt Thomas sometimes. I would love Nurse to give him a bit more run as those 3 pointers can really change momentum and squash a run by the opposition.

There is no reason as to why he can't turn into a J.J Redick type. But he needs more minutes.

I've been pleased with his system defense so far. He's not a stopper but when I watched him on D BCVD (Before Covid) I thought he was respectable. Mid tier guys weren't blowing by him and he was doing a credible job of steering drivers into the help. He knows where he's supposed to be when guys switch. Like I said, a passable system guy. He doesn't attract a lot of one on one attacks from opposing players, oddly enough.

At least, that's my take so far.

That's been my impression too; he's not gonna stop the best guy on the opposing team, but he can hold his own very well in zone defences and doesn't get killed/lost on switches on man-to-man defences. Another thing I noticed is that he also has very good boxing out instincts and is a good team rebounder for a guard (Thomas and Davis are actually our two best rebounding guards per36).
