    Disagree.

The best teams in the NBA have a closer. We won the chip last year because we had a guy that would give you a bucket in clutch situations.
We are the 2nd best team in the NBA and dont have what you would call a closer. Ya it's nice to have kawhi or lebron or dame. But everyone know whose taking the shot when 5 seconds are left. With us it could be Lowry, fred, pascal, norm hell even serge hit a game winner vs the pacers. Teams wont know who to cue in on
I dont know if a high level team has ever not had a guy everyone knows whose getting the shot. It will be fun to see it, could actually end up being an advantage
To be the champs you got to beat the champs

    • Got to the rim in the fourth. Got to the line. Took care of our glass. No easy buckets for the Nets. Raps showing their class.

Siakam was disappointing. Consistently puts his head down and charges to the basket. Looks like he just looks for contact to get bailed out too often. Marc was disappointing and OG was up and down. Good to great games from Kyle, Fred and Norm though.
i missed the end of the game but OG was solid defensively as always but yes from the offensive end he was not having a great game this time. He needs to hit those wide open corner jumpers that I saw him miss. Marc also NEEDS to be better for us to win the chip. We may beable to get through the first two rounds... after that ... against the bucks or heat or lakers or clippers he needs to be able to provide something offensively.

          • If we hit our normal percentage of free throws we'd look a lot better too
            OG is our king

            • That’s a tough win! There are going to lots of nights where you have to dig deep and gut out wins like this. Pretty impressed with the Raps right now. Almost 4 guys with 20+

              • Mark was getting a shitty whistle, and was noticeably frustrated. He asked to come off in the first. Hopefully he can rebound, and dominate a few games along the way.

                • Norm and Serge saved us in this one. +16 and +18 off the bench for those guys. Fred almost had another 30/10 game (missed out by 6 points).

OG couldn't hit anything. Siakam is still struggling. Marc was useless in this one (team low -13).

Kyle was great. He was doing a little too much sometime creating fouls and unnecessary turnovers. But he was disruptive enough and sealed the win with his defense on Harris that caused the dunk by Norm.

6 Nets players were in double digits. Really well rounded team. But unfortunately they have to play Kurucs.. and when he's in the game, it's a party for the Raptors. He's terrible.

                  • Any team that loses game 1 in the playoff will come at you as hard as they can in game 2, and that is what Nets did, but it was not enough due to our depth. On the other hand, if we made our Fts we would have won the game so easily.

                    • So, what exactly is a flagrant fouls these days? I’ve watched every other playoff game, and the shoulder to OG’s head would’ve been called every other game.

A guy will bring his arms through on a drive and a catch a players head and it’s a flagrant. This jackass threw his shoulder into him head, and nothing. It wasn’t part of his regular motion, he actually thrusted his shoulder to catch him.

                      • Free throws have been an issue in the bubble, with an exception to last game. They’ve cleaned up the turnovers, now they just have to focus on that.

As inconsistent as some moderators I know.

Flagrant fouls are reserved for L James, S Curry, Durant and those kind of players as they are the wealth of the league.
This bubble is desinged for the Lakers to win, look at the refs and what they did tonigh to us, and look at what they did to Dallas last night.
This league is bull shit, and it is all business.

Other than the 04 Pistons, I can't think of another team that won a championship without a closer.

We all know half-court scoring is a problem, but what's scary is that our 2 all-stars (Pascal & Lowry) & OG did not have a particularly great Game 1 and we still rolled over the Nets. Sure, we don't have the proverbial "superstar", but we've got 5 guys (Lowry, Pascal, FVV, Powell, Ibaka) who can go off for 20+ on any given night and it doesn't surprise anybody. And Marc & OG are a consistent 10-15pts with All-NBA level D.

It's like whack-a-mole. Pretty difficult to game-plan for this team. But we gotta keep making our 3s. Without a superstar... making 3s are the key to this entire playoff run.
Messy game, but still it's all going according to plan. We had 3 guys go off for 20+ points & Pascal had 19. Check. The only reason it wasn't another blowout was because we only shot 25% from 3, hitting only 9. You know it's an off night from 3 when you don't get your free McDonalds fries.

Sure, we missed a bunch of FTs, but so did the Nets, so that battle was even. We can't sustain OG and Marc not showing up over the long haul. They've both got to pick it up.
