  • Derozan is a predictable offensive player and WAS always hidden defensively, was Not allowed to defend the best player of the opposing team.

    So no comparison at all

    • Like a couple of others, this is a turn-the-page game. Better come out flying in game 6 though and take a strong lead.

      • God that was awful. Gasol was awful. Pascal was invisible offensively and terrible defensively. Lowry was fairly invisible. FVV dribbling the shot clock out is the only time he stood out. OG was OK, but not much he can do when the higher usage guys are completely useless. Serge was garbage, hit a few shots but his defence was laughable even for him. Norm hit some shots later but was pretty useless early when they could have used a little spark. Just no strong games from anyone in the top 7, and awful games from at least 5 of those 7? Going to be a bad night.

Good news is they did this is game 1 too and came back with good performances the next three. Here’s hoping they actually show up for game 6. Raps know how to forget a bad performance, got a lesson in that a couple times in the Philly series last year.

        • I've been saying this since game 2 of the restart. It's just weird.

          • On the bright side, nobody had to play 45 mins. Hopefully starter get some rest and have enough fuel to win Games 6 and 7.

            • the series doesn't start until someone wins a home game, is what they say about bubble basketball. let's just hope that home team is the good guys on friday.

Did Gasol actually end up with zero points???
You need more from your 7' starting centre, I don't care how good his screens and pretty passes are....where have I heard that before?

                • Denver playing Clippers tough but doubt they can hold. There's a team that got jobbed of home court and the elevation advantage.

No one on either team with more than 2 fouls at the half. wth is wrong with the Raptors games?

                    • What a pathetic effort. Big exhale game when you hadn't earned the right to. Everyone but Thomas was utter diarrhea. Gasol with another disgusting game with no points no assists and his typical refusal to look at the basket for most of the game, forcing us to play 4 on 5 right when the team is dying for some offence. Serge also shitty.

I hope they all feel embarrassed in a way that lights a fire under them for next game so they can put up fight. That's the only positive from this one.

                      • I don't like Fred's usage creeping up. For the playoffs, he's now #1 for mpg, #1 ppg, #2 fga. Sorry but if your team is Fred VanVleet as your 1A guy, a second round exit sounds about right.

                          PPG gets paid.

                          • Unfortunately its obvious there is no legitimate 1A player but a summation of its parts.

Looking back to the 03-04 Pistons Championship Year, they had...

                            Ben Wallace
                            Sheed Wallace
                            Tayshaun Prince
                            Rip Hamilton
                            Chauncey Billups

                            and a bench...
                            Corliss Williamson
                            Lindsey Hunter
                            Mehmet Okur

so this season Raptors already exceeded expectation, anything else beyond 2nd round is a significant bonus to a franchise who lost a Finals MVP.

No need to even be depress.

Masai just have to continue the culture of winning basketball at both ends of the floor and be a sneaky thief before the trade deadline once again in preparation for the 2021 free agency

Same team with no Kawhi unfortunately. Lots of second/third option and high quality players, no real #1 option.

                              • ugh crappy game ...ah well ..that's a "rap" ...game 5 winners generally go on to win the series

and notice when Boston wins, they do with authority, whereas the raptors really need to "try hard"....well bucks are out at least !! lol ...first two seeds out ...wow ...
