If the agreed to strategy in the Raps front office is that we are going to have a max slot for the Alphabet if he hits free agency and be able to show him that the players he will be playing with have won and can win again then we are going to sign Freddy.

We have Pascal and OG under contract and have a shot at keeping Lowry on a last contract for a price.

Gobert would be great but think his valuation would put us in a tough spot to maintain that max salary slot with a litttle wiggle room. So its a regrettable pass on Rudy.

Hoping we are able to land a guy like Harry Giles for less than what Gobert wants and deserves for pretty close to the same production.
After the Kings front office cocked up yet another situation .. maybe there is an outside chance to pick up another shooter and guy who can get his own shot in Bogdonavic.

We shall see in a week to 10 days.
No idea if Giannis would ever come here but I'm pretty sure the odds are slim and none if we don't up this roster beyond re-signing FVV and one of Marc or Serge without much else. Reality is that the Bucks will have a better regular season than us for 3 years running and likely go as far or further than we will in the playoff this year. Just the way it is and it really doesn't look like we'll do better than tread water at best this season. I personally think we take a step back which makes it even harder to bring The Alphabet here.

If he leaves, it may not be for a ready-made super team, but he'll want an up and coming team where he can be the difference. Miami and Boston, Dallas would arguably be interesting for him.

I would only say to keep in mind what the team looked like entering the 2018-19 offseason and what it looked like during the championship parade 12 months later.....

Fair enough. But I don't like seeing articles about Toronto being the most quiet (even rumoured) in the East and need to get moving.
Trust in Masai until you can't.

People make decisions using any number of criteria that are important to themselves and themselves only.
In Torontos favour is the long standing relationship between Ujiri and players coming from Africa. Yes the Alphabets citizenship is Greek .. but cmon man his parents come from the continent and they know of Masai at more than a passing level. That counts as something behind the ability to win a championship.

If we look at the situation critically and not through the lens of an ethnocentric NBA media lens who has him going to the usual spots... LA or Miami or Dallas or NYC then Urjiri is creating and working on a winnable strategy..

The NBA MSM whiffed bad on assessing Luca and there is still the tinge of Danny Ferryism in the air.. who can forget the too much African in him comment that still pervades the front offices of multiple NBA teams. To much African and those Euros are soft and not athletic. You would think they would learn eh ?

The Raps shot is as good as anyone's should the Alphabet go to free agency and its important to have a team in place that mirrors the Kawhi pro forma... We got everything else.. all we need is you.

            • Knicks are clearing out their roster. Declining options on Portis and Gibson, waiving Payton, Ellington and Wooten and letting Dotson go as well. Have to think Randle isn't long for NYC.

              • Leon Rose doing work.

Could see them looking at Fred for sure. Or maybe they use that cap space to absorb Westbrook's giant contract instead via a trade.

Really sucks.. if only Kyle hit that 3 in game 5.. then we would not have had a game 6.

We should pickup Taj Gibson as a depth big. Solid vet who can still play. Probably heading to the Clippers or Lakers, though. Or maybe he'll join Butler in Miami.

Sounds like Gibson or Portis might end up back with the Knicks but at a reduced salary.

Knicks now have a pile of cap space.

                            • LOL. Bucks just waived Ilyasova, which means the Bogdanovic deal is all but dead. .
