Would you trade Fred for Giannis?
Extra flaccid.
Not unless they put Illyasova in the deal.Last edited by Demographic Shift; Thu Nov 19, 2020, 07:02 PM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Celtics played a lot better in the playoffs without Hayward. He's doing them a huge favor by not hanging around.
We get caught up in the playoffs but Hayward was very good for them this past season and it's going to make life much harder for Tatum, Brown and Walker without him over 70+ games.

Kanter picks up his option. Boston drops Ojeleye. And with Hayward opting out, a quick look at Boston's cap sheet.. and they have $112M in salary.. Salary cap is at $109M so they are over the cap.
They have the full mid level (about $10M).
Hayward could resign with Boston. Or he could be used in a S&T. Or he could just leave. If he just leaves, Boston only has the mid level to get a replacement.
Boston needs a big.. maybe they go after Serge? Give him a $38M for 4 years. It's not like Boston cares about 2021 like Toronto might..

If he leaves them without a sign and trade, they effectively spent $100 million on Hayward for one good year. And because those resources went to Hayward, they have no way to re-deploy them to help the team. Irving and Horford leaving didn't hurt as much cause they were able to get Walker out of that sequence of events but this is just losing a guy for nada.

Back to Utah?
Back to Indy close to where he went to school and Mrs. Hayward’s family is?
Chicago ?
Philly after Morey moves Fat Joel to the Knicks 40m in capspace?
The Knicks show insight and pass on the Cheeseburger Kid for Hayward?

Could mean the end of Giannis in Milwaukee... but this is kind of whack.
There was nothing from all the shenanigans involving Kawhi, Uncle Dennis and the Clippers. How many free agents signed before the start of free agency last year? I remember Kemba getting signed like right away. How is that possible if teams can't talk to free agents until the bell rings?
This season we had like 2 weeks notice before free agency started.
I guess I'm more upset at the hypocrisy. If this is a new trend for the NBA, then they have to be consistent going forward. There should never be a situation where a "free agent" is signing with a team before the start of free agency.
