Yeah the Hayward deal is hilarious. They waive Batum and his $20M deal so they can give Hayward $120M. Gordon Hayward. The injury prone 6th man from Boston basically.
Thats pushing it a bit. Hayward got overpaid, especially on term, but he was legitamately their second best player for most of the year. The guy is still one of the best offensive wings in the league and an average defender. He has been riddled with injuries the last couple years, no doubt and paying him hard caps your ceiling, but its Charlotte. If Ball is as good as advertised they should finally have something to get fans excited. After letting Kemba go the Hornets looked absolutely miserable - I’m going to let them have this.
With all the moves Atlanta has done, seems like you could go and poach one of those young guys pretty easy, no?
Like Craig he could be a really good backup 3 for the right price.
Maybe he would even take a cheap 1 year deal. like bismack and help boost him to a bigger contract next summer with some playoff exposure
Is Houston in real danger of missing the playoffs? You got LAL, LAC, Denver, Dallas, Utah, GSW, Portland and Phoenix in some order as a potential top eight, and then there's whatever Memphis, New Orleans and Minnesota end up being
Its become pretty public now that Harden and Westbrook want out of Houston. They probably aren't too concerned about playoffs and are working on getting the best return possible for those two.

Lots of good teams out west. A few solid ones are going to fall short.

Defense is a vauleable skill too.. If we are going to play thomas more this year putting a 3 and D like craig out there beside him would be nice.
You can never have to much defense. O.G gets into foul trouble and we are screwed for wing defenders. Having a guy like craig for cheap is always a plus.

Does shooting a career 32% from deep consitute a 3 & D?
(nope)
Still though, seemed like a lot of people were very high on him, last year...

Except he’s a 3 & D without the 3.... or the D. You must be thinking about a different player.
Who are the winners and losers so far this off season in your opinions? I like Detroit having added Josh Jackson and Gerami Grant. Think that gives them a really versatile defense like Boston, but they are missing scoring threats. If they can swap out Blake in a package for Harden they could be really interesting.

Lakers hands down winner. Got the 6th man of the year and another guy who had a case for 6 man of the year and didnt lose any big pieces.
Phx right behind, CP3 and crowder can help be vets for the young dudes.
Not to sure on the losers maybe hornets for a weird move paying hayward so much when they should be focused on developing the young guards.
Clippers for losing trezz and over paying marcus.
Golden state for non-transactional reasons.
