Devin Booker, Trae Young & John Collins headline this list. Unlike our treasure trove of 2-way, defensive minded players.... those guys are all in the playoffs and doing well.

If he could shoot the 3, I'd be okay with that.
The only elite offensive players in this league that also plays D are Kawhi, LeBron, Durant and Klay Thompson. Butler? good defender but his offense is not good enough to be put in that level.
I keep reading defense, defense, defense. Who'd you rather have Butler or Booker? lol.Mamba Mentality

Historically through the Derozan years, we were lopsided with relatively good offence and great regular season success, but with a poor team defence that got exposed in the playoffs (not just because of Demar, but other role players and starters too, including JV to some extent).
Then the 'culture reset' came, and part of it was a shift to a defensive focus. We got two former DPOY's in Kawhi and Gasol, and gradually instilled a really intricate and physically demanding defence with Nurse. That gave us the championship.
The pendulum kept going too far in that direction though. We created some kind of defensive obsession in which we were totally fine acquiring and giving ample minutes to 1-way, floor-shrinking offensive black holes (eg. RHJ, McCaw, Stanley, bembry, after-wash Gasol), but had zero tolerance for players that were good offensively but needed more time to adjust to the Raptors defensive schemes (which are among the most complex and varied on the league)
It's time to balance things out again. It's fine that our young players can develop in a strong defensive mindset and that "Box-and-1" t-shirts were printed and all, but at the end of the day someone needs to put the ball in the dang basket. That's why we to prioritize drafting a scorer/offensive minded player, even if their defence is still questionable, regardless of our draft position. We can all be pretty sure no Phoenix fan is complaining about blown defensive coverages by Booker after he dropped 47 to bounce Lebron in the first round.

Kawhi and George are elite 2-way talents, but Doncic doesn't care because the rules favour him and not them.

Starting to like Giddey a bit more. His offensive game is more diverse and refined than I originally thought. The competition in Australia makes it really tough to evaluate like I’ve said before but worst case scenario we fall back to 8 or 9, giddey will be there and could be a really fantastic fit in the backcourt long term next to Fred or Gary.
Watched some Bouknight as well. Looks very solid. I think this has to be one of the best drafts I’ve seen (from a pre-draft standpoint) in a long time. Seems like there’s a wing scorer in every tier who is young enough and promising enough to be worth investing in for this team. I think there are probably 5-10 guys that I’d be very happy drafting. Bouknight, Moody, Johnson, Jalen Green, Kuminga, Cunningham, Suggs, Mobley, Springer... all of these guys would give us a serious injection of talent and at least one if not several of them will be available when we’re on the clock.

Ok.
Question, are you a Beal fan? do you want the Raps to trade for him?
If you cant tell by now I believe that OG and Siakam paired together is a great pairing and THAT pairing is one dude away from something but it has to be the right dude.

Most of the elite offensive guards/wingers in today's game are not good defenders. Steph, Harden, Booker, Luka, LaVine, Dame, Kyrie, Beal, Murray. I'm sure i'm missing a couple more. I'd love to have any of these guys on the Raps. If the Raps trade for any of these guys they'd be back in contention next year.
The only elite offensive players in this league that also plays D are Kawhi, LeBron, Durant and Klay Thompson. Butler? good defender but his offense is not good enough to be put in that level.

Depends on the defense they play. If it is average/passable and they are an elite offensive player, then thats great. Basically their offensive contribution has to outweigh their defensive flaws, if that doesn't happen, it becomes a problem.
The reason why the nets are so incredible is that they are essentially so good on offense that they can just brute force their way through the east. Their brand of basketball isn't even that great or nice because they basically do this routine where everyone takes their turn on iso... but their iso is just that good collectively. I would love to see Utah vs the Nets if the Nets somehow make it past the Bucks. They likely will but they will be challenged. Sixers likely won't happen because Embiid struggles with bumps and bruises all the time.
The other thing too is if you have one super start player you need to have every other player be defensively close to an OG and Siakam level to truly make it work.
