Elite guys will stay elite yes. I didn't say they won't benefit. But there's more middling guys than elite guys. Why spend all that money on one guy when there's middling guys who will get the job done?

Liking this kid. So the mocks have Tre Mann way down around 19-25 range. This could be yet another case (of hundreds) of the mocks and so-called BPA ending up being completely wrong in hindsight. So, if Raps feel like he's the best shot creator with star upside outside the top 4, shouldn't they just "reach" all the way down and draft this kid and forget about what anybody else thinks? Or should they play it safe and pick a guy like Barnes, even though the history of the draft shows that there really is no safe pick, unless your expectation is 8-9th man off the bench.

He's not just a great PnR player but he can also create his own shot.

Definitely has a nice one on one game, but you'll note he doesn't get to the rim much because he's kind of slow...no quick first step. Relies on change of pace and handles to create separation. I'm sort of on the fence with Tre cause his defense is awful and I don't know if he gets the same separation against more disciplined defenders in the NBA. 6th man material I think but you ne er know how he might develop.

Controlling possessions will still be important no matter how good offense and defense is. So that meaning cutting down on turnovers and forcing them and defensive and offensive rebounding.

I been following to the conversations and we have some potential GM. Most definitely influencers here, I want to help nudge you all in the right direction.

When you guys think about a prospect for this team you have to think about team building. You can have a all offensive player but everyone around him has to make up for his lack of defensive.

rim protection is a must

You need at least 1 player that can stop penetration from the perimeter

1 player that can do both of the above

which leaves 2 players who can be bad at defense but great at offensive. Those 2 players can not be undersized.

it is possible to hide undersized players like Flynn but Fred but you have to be dominate every where else.

Og and pascal from a team building prospective are doing their jobs. Period!

Fred was protected when we had players that could make up for him being undersized. when you have to think about going in the paint and all your shots are most likely perimeter Fred now comes a nightmare. When we have no Center Fred is a pill on.

we need size and talent period just to get to putting a defensive product we can be proud of.

I watched Kyle Anderson and Ben Simmons do it at 6’9 so I know it can be done by a guard that hieght.

On paper doesn't Davion seem like a guy that could in time replace Lowry? Many of the same intangibles when you consider his toughness, defense, and hustle. That's not a bad player to add to this roster by any means and should be available when Raps make their pick.

Not every y'all player is going to be good and at least on paper Davion has far fewer holes in his game than most of the other guys we are talking about in our draft range.

Mock drafts are generally useful as a sense of league consensus, because most of the professionals who write them know the general feeling around the league about these players in addition to their own assessments. Certainly teams will have their own rankings, and the Raptors certainly do (that would be why they drafted Bruno, or drafted Pascal 27th when he was a consensus second-rounder at the time).

But teams' individual draft boards aren't going to differ that much from the consensus, as a general rule: there might be a few players a team is higher on than average, and a few they're warier of than average, but there usually isn't going to be that much variance.
