And Mobley won't fix the other issue that this team needs a legit shot creator. Fortunately, any of the top 4 will address a need.
He not only addresses issues on defense, he also components the offense by providing interior scoring. That was something we lacked this past season which meant the majority of shot creation came from the perimeter which teams could more easily prepare for. They knew who was going to get the ball and where.

2012- I was all in on Barnes, he went and the I wanted Drummond... I was really high on Terrence Jones too, I remember hearing Terrence, got super exited, then heard Ross
2014 - Hood over Bruno
2015 - Portis over Delon
2016 - Chriss over Poetlt (but I think I wanted Poetlt after Chriss went off the board), Skal over Siakam
2017 - I was praying OG would fall, backup choice was Ivan Rabb
I haven’t had the best takes lol
2012: I was kind of meh on Ross - I preferred Barnes but he wasn't available. I didn't like Drummond, though, so when they made the pick I was like "...okay, sure." 2012 was a top-seven draft and we had #8.
2014: I preferred Clint Capela to Bruno.
2015: I hoped for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and I maintain if we had drafted him we would have been able to fix his shot.
2016: I prefered Sabonis over Poeltl (but, to be clear, I was quite happy with Jakob and thought he was a smart pick) and I honestly didn't have a strong opinion about #27, but once I read up on Pascal I thought it was a good gamble.
2017: Once OG fell I was like "omigod are we seriously going to get OG," as I had been expecting us to go for Caleb Swanigan or Josh Hart.

Here's what I don't understand though - how come everytime there's a slim 4/5 big that can shoot a little bit, how come they always compare them to Bosh? Bagley's player comp when he was a rookie was Bosh, Wiseman's player comp last year was Bosh, now Mobley. I don't see any Bosh in Mobley's game. Not saying he's Anthony Davis but I actually see more AD in Mobley's game.

I'm sorry WHAT!!!
Lol..both these guys are clowns, working under the table..so yeah..don't buy that S$#^.
Cade is a dramatically better shooter, which makes him a safer pick than Barnes - and really, Cade being the safest choice is by far the reason he's the consensus #1, he's not going to bust bar some horrible injury. But if you think Barnes' shot can be fixed and are willing to take on that risk? He's an excellent choice.

Mobley actually doesn't have any of Bosh's offensive game from early in his career (when Bosh primarily played post), so that's a fair comment; Mobley needs to work on his post game to complement his interior scoring, at which he's already close to elite. But, really, the comparisons to Bosh come because Mobley has the potential to become a go-to scorer, which is rare for a big: he's got elite midrange game, he's fast and agile, and his distance game isn't there yet but it shows promise. If the shot develops as expected and he learns to play post, he'll be able to generate his own buckets from literally anywhere on the floor, which is what drives the comparisons to Bosh.

I feel like we would have developed players a lot better to. I think Knight would’ve had a better career in Toronto as well.
It seems like my initial reaction is always meh, until I start researching the guy more and see why they picked them. Ross wasn’t on my radar before. His upside was impressive.

Bosh was never considered a Center pre draft and really for his career either. So the Mobley comparisons are pretty odd.
Still lots of people confused on why we let Lowry go even without a sign and trade. It's a one step back to take two steps forward situation. We will never win another championship with Lowry. The timing doesn't work. We need those minutes to develop the future. Not sure why that's so hard for people to understand. Yes we would be a better team with Lowry next year, and no it would not be in our best interest toward getting another championship. Bringing back Lowry means losing a talented young player and having a much lower odds of winning a title in the future because we prioritized short term wins versus long term success.

Mobley is kind of like a better version Jaren Jackson Jr. with a lot more playmaking.
end. You can tell Mobley has a good feel for the game, just as Bosh did.

Kyle would be an awesome mentor for a young guard like Suggs. You think Chris Paul hurt Shai's game? Or Booker's game? Cam Payton is a revelation this year, and I suspect Paul had a lot to do with that.
As for Kyle leaving for nothing.. I give that about a 5% chance.. and the only team that might take him would be NY if they want veteran help at guard, and Kyle wants a big money. Miami and Dallas are both unlikely. Miami because of Dragic. And Dallas because of Hardaway Jr.
For S&T.. if a team comes in with an awesome offer, we'll listen. But ultimately Masai had a price and nobody could meet that at the deadline. I suspect that price goes up, not down.

What talented young player are we losing? Harris? Our 59th pick from the draft last year? I think we'll survive. Ultimately I think we just drop Bembry and keep Harris. And just have Harris on another 2-way contract so he can spend more time in the G-league.

So Flynn and our 1st round pick and Harris all get zero minutes when we keep Lowry and Trent gets all the remaining guard minutes. The whole mentor thing is honestly junk, rookies need minutes not watching Lowry from the bench. Coaches teach and mentor, Lowry isn't a coach he's a player looking for one last title run.
