The problem for the Raptors is, they really need a 5 and a 2, and in this draft, you have Evan Mobley and Jalen Green that fits perfectly, but when it's their time at #4, very LIKELY both Green and Mobley could be gone, which is a HUGE disappointment that we have come this far at #4 but lose this opportunity within our fingertips.
And if we look at both Houston and Cleveland:

-Both HOU and CLE do NOT DESPERATELY need a 5 as the Raptors do

-Both of them needed Jalen Green

-Houston also needed a point guard like Jalen Suggs, but Cleveland doesn't need one

-Unless Cleveland making a trade to ship Sexton out, but still won't take Suggs because Garland and Suggs are playing the same style

-Houston shouldn't take Suggs at #2 because Suggs would still be available at #4

I think it makes A LOT of sense for the Raptors to trade up and swap pick with Houston at #2

Raptors have an option at either Green or Mobley, and Houston will for sure getting Suggs at #4
(The best player that fits Cleveland is actually Kuminga, I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland trade with Magic for #5+#8)

I think the market has really dried up for him. Masai has set a bar for a S&T already and I don't see anyone paying it. They'd rather keep him then trade him for trash. And not many teams have cap space.

OKC trading Kemba is going to further spoil Lowry’s market.

Isn't Dallas an option for Lowry? LOTS of pressure on Dallas to put a winning roster around Luka after releasing key management and coaching pieces. Lowry should fit really well with Luka one would think.

The Problem with Raptors drafting Suggs is....you would NEED to find a Scorer compliment with him, a lot like.....Having Chris Paul you add Devin Booker, boom you are playing in the finals, and same with Curry+Klay, one itself can't do it. and there's NO Player right now who is a good fit with Suggs in this year's draft also in the Free Agents

It's never a 1 year rebuild/retool. It can take 2 or 3. Suggs is a creator as he can create for others as well as for himself. He's a great defender. And he's not fully developed as he started his young career playing football, not basketball.

Suggs could easily be a Booker. He just has to develop into it.. but he surely has "it" which is what you want in a top 4 pick. And that's what makes Booker great.

That's for S&T's.. we're talking about teams that could just outright sign him in free agency. Dallas could be a team like that, but they would have to let THJR go. He's standing in their way of being a team with cap space.

I mean Suggs is a GREAT player but you need to find him a match backcourt to unleash the full potential, that's essentially what Golden State DID with Curry and Klay and it worked out perfectly. Phoenix was mediocre until Chris Paul came, not because how Chris Paul was great it was because he FITS and perfectly complements Devin Booker and that fully unleashed the offence (Not to mention Suns also got Ayton which the Raptors DESERAPTELY need and NO Rashaun Holmes is NOT the Answer)

Kemba will be much cheaper because his knees are shot, which is part of the reason Boston traded him. It's doubtful anybody gives OKC a pick for him until he's shown he can still play, and that won't be until preseason.

Dallas is a S&T option.. but the ask was who are teams that could just sign him outright without a trade. Dallas could be one too but they would have to let go of THJR. Miami would have to let go of Dragic. Knicks can basically do it without letting anyone go.

For teams with S&T.. basically most in the league. Getting to the apron is not that easy. Golden State could be the one team in trouble.. maybe Brooklyn but not sure.

This makes no sense.

First off, Fred works best as an undersized SG rather than a PG, since he's only an okay playmaker and he's not especially good at driving: you pair him with another PG who can defend and you don't get hurt by the size issues most of the time, which is why Fred's greatest moments as a Raptor have been playing the SG role next to Lowry. Fred would pair well with Suggs, who's a good defender and larger than average for a point guard. Second, Malachi is going to be a backup PG in most scenarios anyway.

Suggs fits the Raptors very well. The only minutes concern is if we also re-sign Kyle, and if that happens then it's Nurse's job to just make it work - I would expect to see a lot more Lowry+bench lineups, for example.

I like the reasonable sound of that tune….

Having two develop existing young guards like GTJ, Harris and Flynn then draft Suggs make Van Vleet so redundant not to mention asinine to keep a 19.5 million player who does not fit the timeline and is not elite on being a point guard and in a shooting guard role.

Development means meaningful minutes and not languishing on the bench, not waiting to play behind Van Vleet or not anticipating a call in the office that he has to go down and play with the 905’ers. This is the 4th pick we are all talking about, ffs.
