No. He'll need a couple of years to be able to put on enough mass to avoid getting bodied by stronger centers, definitely, and his distance shooting is a work in progress, but other than that he'll start contributing in his first year.

Mobley has a feel and touch for the game ALREADY. That puts him bbiq wise ahead in a way that he can contribute on both ends of the floor. His defence will be good enough to keep him out there. His offensive playmaking is already going to be VERY good as well. As magoon pointed out his 3 point shooting may need some work but he shot 30% in college which indicates he isn't far far off from it. So that needs some work. He will be contributing right away from day one.

Also, Mobley shot .694 on free throws in college, which for a big is honestly very solid and good evidence that his shot doesn't need a lot of fixing, just tweaking and reps. He should end up being at least as good a shooter as Jonas, and Jonas is quite good for a center.

I've seen other Raptors-OKC trades focused around Shai and the #4 pick that make sense. Sending out OG absolutely doesn't. It's fair to say that Shai has equivalent value to the #4 pick, though.

There's this weird idea (around here) that rookies (or certain types of rookies, e.g. big men) are incapable of contributing. This in spite of seeing rookies contributing every single season, often even on playoff rosters. What rookies can't usually do is play like grizzled veteran allstars. They might be able to play playoff calibre defense, or playoff calibre (consistently get their own shot) offense, but highly unlikely both.

Bosh was definitely contributing as a 19-year old rookie/ I haven't checked his Win Shares that year but I'd imagine his production wasn't vapid either. He just wasn't a grizzled veteran allstar yet.

This is type of haul I would trade Siakam for. Especially trading him before seeing him play in Toronto again.

Is a hell of a small ball lineup, with some serious defensive prowess considering their lack of height.
Throw in a decent Centre from a Lowry S&T and you got a solid 6 man rotation (not mentioning the 6th pick, Flynn and Harris)

If it's not to this level of haul (not saying that it's realistic) I take what we get with the 4th pick and run it back to tdot and see what we have.
