Reading this entire thing, it 100% just sounds like Lowry. Like almost to a T. Especially this part:

I also read the part for Green as well. I'm at the point with those two (and Mobley) that I am so high on all three that I will both be happy and confused by who we draft. Happy because we got them and confused because they fell to four.

Suggs has to have the top leadership skills and and personality/character/intelligence intangibles in the top 6. And he seems to be the type of leader - star quarterbackesque - that actually sells jersies and wins fans.

And then he's got plenty of room to evolve as a scorer and break-down dribble guy.

I listened to the Chad Ford podcast this week, his guest Adam Stanco (scouting pro) had some good takes on Suggs. Great athlete, good size, good defender, clutch player, great team player, makes good reads, next level scorer (is already evaluating the help D, because the his defender won't stop him), elite passing, and great vision. All stuff others are saying but it just makes you want this guy more.

He considers Suggs and Mobley tier 2.

Say what you will, but the guy can play ball. His defense is decidedly not underdeveloped (look at Green for what that looks like). And your skillset can't be THAT raw even just to be asked to play point guard as a 6'9 power forward at the div 1 level. His 3-point shooting on the other hand has a solid foundation, a far better one than, say, DeMar had coming into the league (not to mention Ben Simmons).

I could name a ton of players less ready for the league that went on to great careers. Al Harrington, Tmac, Gerald Wallace, Amare, maybe even Pascal as a older college player.

this isn't a knock on barnes I just think the skills he currently offers if he doesn't improve are skills that are redundant with guys we already have unless you are planning on trading someone and even then I think his skill set is redundant. His entire ability to create will be highly dependent on his ability to shoot. That is a huge swing skill. He may not even become an AMAZING shooter and he likely won't he will likely become an OK shooter at best and that will take more than a year.

If that happens then what.. I don't think he will be playing point in the NBA even if he can in short bursts its just not his role.

From what I've watched of Mobley (4 or 5 games), I don't see anything alarming in his body language or his attitude. If it's a major issue it would be out there.

One thing that I find weird is that his Dad was hired to USC's coaching staff. Is it another Uncle Dennis situation? But that's completely speculation

Yeah, I do think Suggs is the third guy behind Mobley, and I have him ahead of Green because the only real question mark with Suggs is the shot and there are plenty of reasons for optimism there.

But heck, if the worst case is being in a position to draft potentially the best scorer in the draft in Green if none of the better guys slip to you? Not a bad spot to be. And I love how much chatter Green is getting for pick 2 (and even the whispers of 1 though that's complete BS). If one of the top three are there that would be amazing. Though obviously I personally am still holding out hope for Mobley (assuming a non-Cade realistic world).

He shouldn't ever be legit playing the 1-spot in the NBA. He's a power forward with a point-forward skillset. And I'm not arguing that we should draft him, just that he isn't raw beyond hope (of being a star-level player).

So is Max Abmas, which is a shame because I really liked him as a second-round value pick, but next year is thinner than this year so it's a smart move on his end.

Oh I agree he isn't raw beyond hope.. but its a big gamble and I'd rather just focus on better prospects who have higher floors ... I think all of the top 4 have a higher floor especially on the offensive end and not a bad floor defensively with Evan obviously having the highest floor defensively of the top 4 guys. Suggs is likely a bit better defensively than Cade.
