Barnes is a Raptors type player so no I wouldn't be surprised if he's their guy. And I like Barnes btw. I wouldn't have a problem if he's their guy, I wouldn't have a problem if Kuminga's their guy, I wouldn't have a problem if it's Keon. Anyone but Sengun.

Honestly, any one of Mobley, Suggs, Green or Barnes will immediately improve the team, and all of them look to be potential game-changers in the long run. I think we'll be fine whoever Masai and Bobby and Tolzman decide is their pick, and I suspect they're actually looking at trying to acquire another first as names move up and down the mock-draft rumour circuit. There are a lot of guys in this draft that are high-potential projects later in the first round

Sooo, I went back and watched another Florida State game, because I'm a baffled by this Barnes hype. I still don't see it. I'm 6 games in, I may watch a couple more... I see Stanley Johnson to be honest. He seems lost on the floor, his passing is not all that impressive, he initiates the offence but it's not like he is breaking down the defence. He stands at the the top of the arc and passes it around the horn and the occasion post dump. It's not anything groundbreaking.

He's also brutal on the boards, he tends to be down there a lot on D, and never comes away with it.

He's got great length and size.. but that's all I see with him.

I agree I think Barnes is more of a projection raw tool kit type player.

I will be happy with green, Mobley, Barnes, giddey any 4 of those I think we can mold.

I think we have above average defenders at every position (maybe not the 5)already, but we lack a truly gifted offensive player that can create his own shot and finish at the rim. Barnes isn't that guy, and he's far from it. If his upside is his body and average handles and court vision, it's not worth a top 5 pick.

As for the entry passes, they were pretty basic passes. How their post players pinned their guy was more impressive. I'm not saying Barne's isn't a decent prospect, but I would be more willing to take a chance on him 7-14. Right now I think Kuminga is the better raw prospect.

I hope Cleveland gets caught up in the Barnes love. They are lacking a guy that SF/PF with those skills, perhaps they reach because they have their backcourt shored up. Sexton, Garland, Okoro, Barnes and Allen. Osman, Nance, Prince bench. Maybe try to move off of Love. At least I'm hoping it happens.

I think I might like Barnes a bit more than Kuminga because he’s more of a 4-3 tweener (with some ability to play the 5), while Kuminga is more of a 3-4 tweener.

Thankfully we already have both kinds of player at a high level in Pascal and OG, so that interest can be tempered a bit.

They're going to draft a guard. It really makes no sense for them to draft Mobley because they already have Allen.
