Uh, because we'd be returning our primary leader/distributor for 10s of millions of dollars? Because then we'd be overloaded with 3 and maybe even 4 starting-calibre point guards on the roster?
Why do you think?

If Suggs is the BPA on their board then they should draft him. Who cares about Lowry? I don't get this whole Suggs/Lowry narrative. I just don't get it. Lowry is 35. He's not going to be here forever.

Go back and re-read my post. That wasn't my argument.

And?
1. They have 2 starting caliber PG's on their roster - Lowry and FVV.
2. Suggs is not a PG.
3. Passing up on Suggs because they already have 36 year old Kyle Lowry is not very smart.
So I think Suggs can be a leading scorer on this team, while also making the other guys better (much like Lowry). Not many guys are 30pt. scorers and honestly we don't need that. We are going to have a more balanced scoring distribution, and it looks like Suggs can be that alpha guy that will take over when needed.
Suggs is also going to be a good perimeter defender, and be able to lock down other guards. With Fred, Flynn, and Trent we should have guys that can contain their guys making it easier on our bigs. Having Siakam, OG makes us a defensive nightmare, we just have to solve our issue at 5.

I think we need someone beyond siakam to be able to score above 20 points thats it. Thats literally all. Fred can do it Siakam can do it. We need one more guy OR a guy who can make everyone do it easier.
1. The Pistons are locked in on Cade.
2. The Rockets are very interested in Green.
3. Sexton is on the trade block.
If we go with that then Cade and Green are going 1 and 2. Then ask yourself why is Sexton on the block? if they trade Sexton then they're probably going to draft a guard. Suggs or Kuminga? I have a hard time believing that they would pass up on Suggs to draft Kuminga. Why not Mobley? they already have Allen.
If the Cavs keep Sex, I still could see them drafting Suggs because he's an upgrade.

- a gifted offensive player that can score at every level in Jalen Green, or
- a promising 5, that is a stellar defended, and can do a little bit of everything on offence in Mobley, or
- a gifted pg (maybe a bit of a combo guard), that is a great defender, has great court vision, can get to the rim with ease in Suggs.
I think we are lucky to get any of these guys... they are all great athletes as well, and seem to have strong work ethic.

.
Many of us think Fred is more of a SG with some PG skills and PG height. Fred benefits from a guy that can truly run the pick in roll, handle the majority of the pg duties.
I think Lowry is gone regardless, we may be able to talk him into staying if we get Mobley. It will come at a high cost though.

I can see the rockets getting one of the jalens... whether or not the cavs pick the other jalen is dependent on a sexton trade. SHOULD THEY PICK MOBLEY?.. in my opinion no they shouldn't because his spacing will be cramped. We may have enough to move up and grab mobley but it will take a bit to move up one spot as I have mentioned a few times.
A realistic starting space will be the 4th, a future first likely unprotected but whatever, and a second rounder from this year. We could also potentially toss in an additional second from a future year.

Suggs is 100% going to play PG in the NBA. He played PG on Gonzaga so not sure why you don't think he's a PG. I know they had Nembhard also and they pretty much shared PG duties, but that's good because he'd be in the same situation here with FVV. If we get Suggs he's our starting PG and FVV is our starting SG.
