That being said, is the fascination on Suggs stems from the moment he made that “Hail Mary†shot against UCLA? Because if that memory in the past is so stuck in people’s minds then that is unfortunate. We already have a resident Hail Mary chucker in Van Vleet.
I didn't really watch enough of young Jason Kidd to make the comparison but Tony Jones from the Athletic said that Suggs' game reminds him of young Jason Kidd. Which I now have to go check out.
Not saying Suggs will be a HofFer, but I like him a bit more than the other guys.
And keep in mind we've been watching a pg since 2013 with a crazy high, aggressive compete level, I would love to watch similar play for another 8 years.

Not the hail Mary for me at all. I watched 5 or 6 of Gonzaga's games back in April - May and love his overall game. He plays very composed and has a high compete level. He's a very impressive prospect. I only watched two of Cade's games (which is not enough to give a fair picture), but I actually liked Suggs better. He doesn't have the size of the other 4 guys (Barnes, Mobley, Cade, or Green), but feel for the game, I came away liking him best. He has that swagger, alpha, mentality, with aggression and skill to put along with it.

IMO, if a player has the Alpha Mentality then he may require more usage and possessions. If ever the Raps decides to pick him, I hope Nick Nurse establishes patience and trust on him right off the bat. It is hard to imagine that Van Vleet would take a lesser role from his surrogate coach in favor of the greenhorn
There is only 1 ball, Apples and Oranges comparison when with Kawhi during that 1 season. A rook vs. an established Alpha is way different from this specific coach perspective. Van Vleet waiting and planting himself in the corners to shoot threes while Suggs setting up and creating the offense is an optic you would most likely see in an alternate universe, I really hope not.

A few thoughts:
1) This is a complete BS smokescreen by the Cavs to get an auction going for their pick
2) Raps really, really like Mobley
3) Raps don't like Suggs at all. Or think he's a bad fit or duplication with FVV. That would also correlate with the Raps so-called interest in Barnes.
4) Could be another smokescreen coming from the Magic... but what's their agenda?
5) None of the above
Given that the Raps FO never leaks.... first guess would be that it's coming from the Cavs, especially since they leaked 2 teams in competition for their asset.
It's going to be an interesting week around here. lol.
2/ I hope so
3/You're third point is interesting. It sort of goes against everything the FO says about getting the best talent available.
4/ I don't see it, unless they want the Raps to trade back with them and are putting this out there to let them know Cavs are offering up the third pick....

Let me be clear first, I am not Anti-Suggs whatsoever as I always consider the draft as a crapshoot (unless they are for sure projected generational talent), therefore any of these guys are still projects requiring time to develop until they prove otherwise the moment they step on that NBA court the first time.
That being said, is the fascination on Suggs stems from the moment he made that “Hail Mary†shot against UCLA? Because if that memory in the past is so stuck in people’s minds then that is unfortunate. We already have a resident Hail Mary chucker in Van Vleet.
I am not surprise though because one pre-ejaculator of this forum already consider him as a potential HOFer. Lol.
Obviously, it's not my, or your, job to watch NCAA games, so I didn't watch all of these guys, but if you doubt how good Suggs is, go back and watch how he orchestrated things during the regular season. How grown men listened to him when HE led huddles and then watch his play during March Madness. If you watch the tape, compared to someone like Barnes, even when he is at his worst he is levels better than Barnes. One guy orchestrates plays, and makes sure his players are in the right spots. The other just runs plays and gets out the way. Not to besmirch Barnes, he has a lot of interesting tools for sure. I just think when in doubt, keep it simple. Don't overthink it. Suggs is the better player now. Barnes has been a top ranked talent since he was a child, and he still can't shoot a jumpshot.
As for the UCLA game, I didn't watch it. Just saw the highlights. Not sure what that has to do with anything.

1/Yeah, it's definitely coming from the Cavs. Maybe to force one of the Magic or the Raps to offer more. They're the only team that benefits from this leak.

Before the NCAA season started, NCAA pundits had Suggs and Cade tied for top freshman prospect. Suggs then led a team to an undefeated regular season. The first in Gonzaga school history. Then he got his team to the final four. There are still pundits who have Suggs second on their big boards, though they have him falling to the fourth pick on their mocks. I didn't watch the final four this year, but of the games I watched Cade, Suggs, Mobley, and Green stood out as players that could have been drafted last year.

If you dont think that way, good for you but I am sure that memory in time as I said could be lasting for some of Suggs predraft cheerleaders.
If we draft Suggs then so be it, I trust Masai, Webster and Tolzman. I hope he fits well with the existing players because that remains to be seen

LOL, well I've taken a lot of grief from the anti-Barnes people here (which is pretty much everyone) for even suggesting Raps may pick him, so let it be known if Raps do draft him I'll be raining holy hell on everyone

If the Raptors mess up this pick, it won't look good, but I couldn't care less about the Bruno pick. That was a late first round pick and we went for the swing of potentially getting a raw, highly talented player and missed. That didn't really affect the team in any way, messing up this pick will.Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

Barnes could be Ron Artest
or
Suggs could be Lou Williams
Comparison of one former player and one active player with some impact to their respective teams they joined.
any better comparison than those two could definitely impact this franchise once again.
or just trade to get a more proven superior talent to pair with Siakam and OG.
whatever rocks your boat
but this pick has to hit the 🎯
