If the Raptors mess up this pick, it won't look good, but I couldn't care less about the Bruno pick. That was a late first round pick and we went for the swing of potentially getting a raw, highly talented player and missed. That didn't really affect the team in any way, messing up this pick will.

I think Masai learned his lesson though, because he never made a pick like that again. He went for seniors with a resume, and OG who dropped because of an injury.
I do think Suggs should be the pick for the Raptors, but if they go with the raw talented players like Barnes or Kuminga, I wouldn't say I'd be happy in the moment but I'd wait to see what they can do. There is a reason why those two are top 10 picks after all.

Well going for a player with talent but is a few years away from being a player isn't a recipe for success, he tried it once and it failed. OG was a great pick considering he dropped, Pascal turned out to be a great pick.

or
Suggs could be Lou Williams
Comparison of one former player and one active player with some impact to their respective teams they joined.
any better comparison than those two could definitely impact this franchise once again.
or just trade to get a more proven superior talent to pair with Siakam and OG.
whatever rocks your boat
but this pick has to hit the 🎯

It's Evan Mobley.. he just comes across very tepid and not a guy that wants to become the greatest.. just a good player, using his god given talent to exceed. But doesn't have that drive that guys like Giannis have. Sometimes god given talent can keep you in the game long. Guys like Vince or Wiggins. But won't turn them into real super stars, at least not once they leave their prime (like in Vince's case).

A) I know the Raptors did their homework in selecting the pick & may have saw something new in those players that they didn't show playing this year which could fit really well with the team.
B) Let's face it Raptors got lucky & have no business being in that high draft position where we suppose to argue on lower tier players if it's better to select Mitchell, Bouknight or Johnson.

OG is Ron Artest. Barnes ... is not.
I have not been paying attention on your previous forum posts assessment of Barnesbut if you have already done it, who would you compare him too? Floor and ceiling?

Was OG ever been forecasted pre-draft having a floor or a ceiling like Ron Artest or you just said that based on what you already have seen OG develop in the last 4 years in the league?

Likely case: Thaddeus Young
Best case: Draymond Green
