If Draymond Green then that would be a career defining pick exceeding their current accomplishments by Masai/ Webster and Tolzman.

Draymond was a college standout with Big Ten All-Defense, Big Tourney MVP and Player of the Year who evolved to a player and Champion like he is right now.

If Barnes turns out to be Draymond when it is all said and done then that would be an overachievement.

Like Stanley (Pac-12), Barnes is an ACC All Freshman and ROY. But if he ended up like Stanley as a Professional, when it is all said and done, then shit lol.

The one pick Masai desperately tried to purchase was the Giannis pick that exceeded beyond expectations. Like all drafts you never know what that pick will turn into but you can only guess & hope he got that drive to succeed while having the support staff to help him get there.

like forget Suggs. Is Barnes better prospect than Moody?

In all honesty; thats the other thing to me. There are a LOT of other better prospects for Barnes. Barnes for me (relative to where we are drafting) has a lower floor than any of the top 4 and even a lower ceiling then them as well (with a much harder route to get there). I don't put much stock into it but ... I will not be happy picking Barnes. Especially considering we have OG and Siakam already on the roster on top of there just being better talent available.

I'll have faith that they did their homework.

Smokescreen and the score ripping off others work. It was speculation because Sam V. of the Athletic REALLY likes Suggs and Barnes.

But it gets attention and people riled up. Mission accomplished.

If we actually wanna trade up to 3 it's because we really want Mobley, and I can get behind that. He's going to be a very special player.

Unlike Barnes he's not just tall, he was actually extremely good in college and didn't shit the bed the entire NCCA tournament.

I know what you mean by Barnes having a harder route to get there, but his ceiling is higher than most in the draft including some of the guys in the top 4. That's why people are talking about him. At his size he should be moving like OG, but hemoves more like a guard. When you combine that with his motor, defense and ball handling it makes for a unique package. Some team would be betting he could pick up all the teachable skills.

Because I think Suggs will be the one to fall to us and Mobley will go 2 or 3. I'd be happy with Mobley

People should want Barnes to be a good enough prospect to be elevated by Masai/Webster over Suggs, if you truly trust them as talent evaluators for the next generation of NBA basketball. If we picked Barnes, that would mean they view him highly enough to put aside his rawness over the winning+leadership+everything else that Suggs brings - a world-beating level prospect that is worth that kind of gamble.

That doesn't mean that Barnes is those things, he's almost definitely not, but "rationally" everyone should want that to be the case. It would mean that Masai finally landed his Giannis-like home run pick.

Seeing how an under sized backcourt of the Suns got smothered by a long Bucks team, I am now starting to warm up to a Scottie Barnes era in Raptorland.
A trio of OG, Pascal and Scottie would gobble up most opponents on D.
Barnes has the potential to be our (much better) Ben Simmons, an amazing 2 way player that will move Pascal to his more natural role as when Kawhi was here.
I really believe Flynn can be a good player in this league and that he and FVV will be good a backcourt enough.
This sport is still a big man's game.
Only the historically great smallish backcourt of Steph and Klay succeeded as the main engine of a championship team.
LeBron, Kawhi, Giannis- they are all bigger and taller guys for their positions.

Scottie Barnes is a fine prospect. I don't like him more than Suggs because he's further behind development wise, but he still has a good deal of upside and NBA readiness to his game. I'm still expecting Suggs though.
